Menus were filthy. Appetizers took forever to come out and the sliders were cold when they finally did. Three people and no small plates or napkins to share the appetizers. Forgot to bring the meat out with fajitas and had to ask the waitress after sitting there for well over five minutes. Chicken was rubbery. Ribs were dry. Saw the waitress grab to-go boxes from a shelf and pulled a dirty rag off of one and hand it to us. Yes, it was open, and yes the rag was laying across it. All this for $100.
I will gladly go somewhere else next time. Thanks for making that an easy decision.
I remember having fond memories of this place from the last time I ate at the Mid Rivers location around ten years ago. I was excited to finally eat at Chili’s again with my girlfriend who had never been. Our experience was unfortunately quite discouraging.
We ordered bone in wings as an appetizer. They seemed fine enough at a glance but after the first bite we noticed the chicken was alarmingly undercooked. We had to send these back.
My girlfriend got the fajita shrimp and she said it was mediocre with nothing noteworthy to be said. She ordered corn on the cob like me and she never received hers.
I got the “chicken crispers”, for which I was tremendously excited to try. I had recently seen an ad for them. I got them in the chipotle sauce which was pretty solid. The problem is the chicken itself was exceedingly low quality. On par with frozen Tyson strips. I know, through extensive experience, not to expect much from the chicken served at big chains but this was abysmal 3.1/10 clucks. There’s no excuse for this sort of underachievement when other big chains like Longhorn and Texas Roadhouse have the time to make fresh, hand breaded, chicken strips.
Another problem occurred when our bill arrived. Every item had been charged twice. It was an easy fix so no harm no foul. It makes you wonder, however, how many people just paid after this mistake without noticing their bill being doubled.
Overall I would not recommend and we will not be back. It was worth a shot.
The rest of the food was mediocre at best. The fajita rice was cold, and the beans had a big clump. They also forgot a couple things about my order.
The brisket quesadilla and sliders were pretty good.
But tonight was honestly rough. I hate singling anyone out, but our server just made the whole experience miserable. They forgot our appetizers (which came out with our meal), got our orders very wrong and did not bring various items, barely checked on us, and acted like they didn’t want to be there at all. It really put a damper on what should’ve been a fun night.
I still like this location and will come back because every other time has been great. But I really hope management sees this and makes sure this doesn’t happen again, one bad server can ruin the whole experience.
As another note I will see the restaurant was moderately busy, but I have seen it much more packed with much better service. I don’t mean to come across as rude, but we came out for my sister’s birthday and it was just not great.
