I was looking for a ramen place. I Googled it. This place came first. This is my first time eating here, and it didn’t disappoint.

The ramen was really good! Probably my new favorite ramen restaurant in Maryland!

Decent local ramen place for Ellicott city. Better than Yama Sushi but not as good as Kippo. Would not travel far for this but if it’s right next door and you need a ramen fix, it’ll fit the bill. Portion is on the smaller side for what you’d expect for a soup noodle dish but we were fine with it since not something we would take home as left overs

I’ve been a long-time patron (over 10 years) of Uma Uma and it used to be an easy 5-star experience for me, every time, without question. Unfortunately they have recently changed the menu for the worse.
For example, their pork buns used to be minced, marinated pork cooked to perfection. Now they just put a few pieces of wet, bland chashu on a bun and cover it with slightly orange mayo. Far from what it used to be, it’s now bordering on inedible.
The ramen is now a poor Akira Ramen clone with corn in it. Ironically there’s now no reason not to just go to Akira Ramen, since it’s cheaper and the sides there are better. Uma Uma always distinguished itself by being better than chain ramen places so it’s very disappointing to see them cut quality so drastically. I won’t be coming again.

I ordered onigiri from here and when I was halfway through, I pulled the longest hair out from my mouth and food. I’m utterly disgusted and disappointed

I tried the Tonkotsu ramen on a rainy day, and while it was good, it didn’t quite reach extraordinary. The ramen offers good value for its price, and the presentation is well-done. Although the ambiance is pleasant, I believe they could enhance it for a more authentic Japanese feel. Nevertheless, it’s clean, and I appreciate that. The service was commendable. Overall, I plan to return and explore other ramen options.

I went here in 2016 and again a week ago and the amount of salt in the vegetarian ramen has declined for some reason. I ordered soy sauce and the salt of the soy sauce was enough. But I have to knock one star off service and food for serving an incomplete dish. HOWEVER, the mushrooms are so tender and light they melt in your mouth, the noodles taste freshly made with that thick savory gluten flavor. If they added more salt you could seriously just eat the noodles w/ broth and get your money’s worth. But seriously look out for the mushrooms, they are cream on top. The vegetables are like, yep, that tastes like vegetable. Totally neutral experience on that. Overall id say the food is a 90/100.

This is a very place if you like ramen.
We think their ramen is better than some other famous franchise.

I had a delicious Ramen here for lunch. Great for when the weather outside is frightful. The staff was helpful and explained the menu to us since some of the ingredients are listed in Japanese. You can customize the spiciness by number: 1-5. My wife said her rice bowl was delicious too. It’s also nice to know that they are open late for when you want some late night comfort food.

The food is okay. You can get better food for a better price, especially in this area. There’s not really anything outstanding about this place other than your average bowl of ramen. I would search elsewhere if you want to pay for what you get.
