The pazole Jalisco was absolutely perfect. Diego was such a nice server. New to the area and seriously cant wait to try all the other things. The menu is STACKED. oh and the Horchata was a 10/10. (A real one knows if these two items were good on the first go… thats high quality mexican food.

My family (wife and two young children) along with my parents ate at Rancho Viejo for the first time on Saturday, July 27, 2024. I often say that for my unsophisticated palate I find most typical family Mexican restaurants to taste very similar. A lot of times, at least for me, the food at one Mexican restaurant is very similar to the taste of the food at the other Mexican restaurant down the road.
So when it comes to Rancho Viejo, I must say that my personal trend continued. The food was good but it didn’t necessarily stand out from other Mexican restaurants I eat at. Rest assured, you will get a solid meal when you visit Rancho Viejo but it isn’t going to taste like something you have never had in your life. BUT, there are a couple things that do separate Rancho Viejo from other Mexican restaurants. First, the atmosphere/décor. It is very festive, cozy, and fun inside the restaurant. Photos and framed movie posters line the walls. It is like a story is being told. The colors, decorations, and even the thoughtful bathrooms make for a very nice environment. Second, the value is better than average. Prices are more affordable and you get a bigger plate as well. Third, the American menu is top notch. My son ordered a cheeseburger and it was a big, thick burger that looked better than something you would get at an American burger joint. Fourth, the soda is cold and well-carbonated. So many times I go to a restaurant and receive a flat soft drink…not at Rancho Viejo. All of us who ordered sodas (and we all got different kinds) commented on how fresh and bubbly they tasted.
If you want a reliable, colorful Mexican restaurant with good service and key intangibles, give Rancho Viejo a try.

Excellent food. Excellent service and fantastic atmosphere. We usually go with my wife’s entire family and they give us this huge table with these Hispanic tiles it’s quite a beautiful and immersive experience. They even accommodated us when my son wanted some of my carne asada and sold us more as a side.

I have been coming off and on for many years and it always pleases me to say they have great friendly staff , great food – plenty on the menu to pick from , I get various dishes depending on my mood and drinks to match , my go to favorite though margaritas any flavor it’s all good to me , always a happy customer here with everything !!! By far the worst phone customer service experience I have had in my life. I called to change a reservation and was put on hold for 12 mins. I hung up and called back. When I explained that I had been forgotten she simply said ‘ok’. When I asked if she wanted to say they are sorry or anything else to explain themselves she said ‘do you want to order take out or what’. I said I wanted to change my reservation and she hung up on me. I called back explained everything above and was told we are busy do you want to order and she hung up again. I tried three more times and each time they hung up without helping or caring.
