One of the best places I’ve eaten at on São Miguel. The seafood was fresh and full of flavor. We ordered the mix fish platter along with a tuna steak which was really great. We also tried the fish soup that was aromatic and warming and honestly hard to resist.
For a starter we had cheese from Pico. It had a unique clean taste that stays with you.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. They told us all about the fish they served and at the end treated us to some delicious liqueurs.
The atmosphere is another big plus. The walls are covered with signatures from visitors so everyone can leave a small mark. A place absolutely worth recommending.

An interesting place, a bit different from typical restaurants. They don’t have chairs, only benches, which can be a little impractical. The food is excellent, the portions are large, and the prices are reasonable. I had sardines, and I didn’t know that here they don’t clean out the insides, so when I opened them the contents spilled over the meat. That was definitely a downside for me, but the sardines were really tasty. Another minus was that there was no paper for drying hands in the restroom.

Out hotel recommended this place so we stopped here for lunch while walking the coastal route. It has a great ambiance, delicious food, amazing wine and it’s reasonably priced. I’d travel back to São Miguel just to eat the fish soup again!

Exceptional! Local atmosphere, great friendly and natural service and of course the food. Menu is short and this is the adventage – big portions with a lot of additions, fresh, extremely tasty (the best shrips with sauce I ever had) and fair prices. This is just of the beginning of our trip around Azores and we are afraid the bar is set too high now 😉

One of those rare gems where the atmosphere instantly makes you feel at home. The vibe is warm and welcoming, with a laid-back charm that perfectly matches the Azorean spirit. The service is exceptional – genuinely friendly, attentive without ever feeling rushed, and full of heart, as if you’re being looked after by friends.
And then there’s the food. Every dish feels like it’s prepared with care, but the fish soup is the true standout — rich, flavorful, and absolutely unforgettable, the kind of bowl you’ll crave long after you leave. Pair it with the stunning seaside setting, and you’ve got a place that delivers not just a meal, but a whole experience.

Absolutely fantastic although a bit pricy. The outside doesn’t look promising, especially when some guys are drinking beer, then you enter and see a tavern with walls covered with some escribes, then you notice even more tavern/whales hunters stuff. We were welcomed although we had no reservation and we have made our orders. Important mistake: we have ordered a starter of the house. It was delicious but then we were served the mains and they were enormous. The portions are clearly targeting hard working fishermen so it was a challenge to finish everything. We won this challenge as the food was fantastic but nothing more could be eaten that day. I strongly suggest to go there with empty stomach and enjoy the taste 🙂

Those place is amazing. First off, get reservations. You are taking a chance with the appetizer and bread. The portions are massive, tasty, ans unbelievable gorgeous. We had a party of 6. We ordered the mixed meat platter for 2, the mixes fish platter for 2, the sirloin steak meal, the meat kabob, and the chicken and steak meal. Appetizers included fish soup for 1 and the limpits. A sangria for 2, a water, and seven beers. The total was €150. The staff are super friendly and helpful. We stayed 9 days in Sao Miguel, we went out 1 to 2 times per night and this is the absolute best place on the island.

The grilled tuna steak was very tasty and the fish soup was good. The prices are also good. Even though the village is not appealing I would come back for the food.

A casual spot with amazing food and great service. Very good value as the portion here is quite huge, especially the fish of the day. The staff were very friendly and the service was fast. There were 4 tables while we were there and it took around 10 mins for the food to arrive. We also had chocolate mousse which we found too sweet.
