Unfortunately, I had to update with tonight’s experience. After ordering online and being told that it would be 30 minutes until ready, my husband arrived and still had to wait an additional l, almost 20 mintues to get the food. I’ve read locally, that they burgers are amazing, sadly, I was very underwhelmed. There was hardly any lettuce or tomato and not too many grilled onions, which I paid extra for. My bun and the fries were a soggy disappointment.
I’ll stick to the bbq and definitely not go back on a weekend, as we’ve had to wait before on the weekends beyond the promised time. I will also continue to use the drive thru in the future.
The front counter folks are never overly friendly and the decor and atmosphere are a bit drab and depressing.

The bbq was wonderful and the lady running the drive through, middle aged, thin, maybe blonde, was fantastic as well.
I tend to go a bit overboard with my sauce load, and they were all there!!
We eat here once every few months and the food is always great!!

BBQ brisket sandwich was okay. Meat had a mild flavor and was okay on it’s own. Add the different BBQ sauces at the table and the whole flavor profile changes. Definitely add the sauce. I had the creamy coleslaw as a side it was also just good. Nothing phenomenal but I did enjoy the meal.

I saw a reference to Rusty’s Restaurant on Facebook & wondered about their 2026 New Year’s Day Menu. I checked & they had everything we wanted for New Year’s Day. Their Pulled Pork, Collard Greens, Black-eyed Peas & Jalapeno Cornbread were fresh & fantastic. They had many side items to choose from. Their homemade pies look so good, but we were too stuffed to try them this time. Also, they have a broad assortment of Meat selections…….The Service was very good & we will be back! Thanks

One of the best briskets I’ve had in a while. Very tender and juicy, a unique flavor on the bark. Great sauces to go along with it. The ribs were a bit dry, thats the only reason for a 4 star. If you are in town, definitely come check them out. Staf is friendly and attentive. Great place.

On a recent trip to Alabama, we made a stop at Rusty’s Bar-B-Q before heading back to Texas, and it was a fantastic choice! I ordered the brisket sandwich with a side of fries to see how it stacked up against Texas BBQ, and Rusty’s did not disappoint. They offer four different sauces, and I highly recommend trying them all! I loved the house sauce for my sandwich and the sweet sauce paired perfectly with the fries. I also had the potato salad and cornbread bites—both were excellent. If you’re in the area, Rusty’s is a must-visit for BBQ lovers!

I guess it depends on what you order but I judge a bbq restaurant on brisket. I was in the area today and had little time but I stopped by. I ordered the brisket plate with potato salad and fries to go. Right at $25 with drink plus $5 tip. They did not make it to go so I had to wait longer. The fries were the only thing good. The brisket was very dry and bland, the potato salad was the absolute worst I’ve ever had, gross. My dogs did enjoy the rest though. I don’t leave negative reviews often but this was a terrible experience.

not the absolute best bbq i’ve ever had, especially in alabama, but definitely not the worst. the meats probably just could’ve used a bit more seasoning.

THAT FRIED OKRA though! oh man was that worth every bite. Breaded and cooked perfectly so it was crunch on the outside and still warm and squishy on the inside. will be going back just to be getting more of this.

Staff were super friendly and the ambiance was very charming, loved all the old pictures and newspaper clippings all over the walls. definitely worth a stop

So first off, we showed up around 7 PM. So maybe a lot of this is because the meat was sitting around for awhile. Not sure.

The ribs were good. A bit overcooked and a little dry, a bit too tender if anything, but the flavor was good. The chicken was also good, but it was a little dry too. The pulled pork was very dry. Still good when drenched with their house BBQ sauce, which was delicious by the way, but it was still disappointing.

I’d also like to say that the white BBQ sauce was delicious. I’d heard of that but never had it before, and was excited to try it on the chicken. Absolutely fantastic sauce.

The potato salad was kind of just bad, though. The potatoes were extremely undercooked, with some of them even coming across as borderline crunchy. That could have just been a bad day? Maybe it usually great. The undercooked potatoes kind of matched the dry meats, so maybe things just went poorly today.

The gooey cake was dangerously good. Not exactly the hardest thing to make addictive, sure, but good lord, it was good.

This is one of those barbecue joints that just need to be on a list. Great food, great atmosphere and the Servers were sweet and attended. The chicken fell off the bone. There were several sauces on the table to choose from. Including a white smoked chicken sauce that was perfect. I’ll be back. I ate all my food before I could take a photo of it.

Stopped here because Fat Man’s in Cropwell was closed. Employees were very friendly and attentive. Food was average. All the sides were below average (potato salad, mac n cheese, coleslaw.) The onion rings were great and the geeen beans came straight from a can. Brisket had a nice flavor but was not as tender or juicy as I’m used to. The sweet bbq sauce was the best sauce option. In short, the price we paid wasn’t worth the quality. $113 with tip for 4 people
