Very nice Mala tang (mini hotpot) place! Clean and cozy inside, food was tasty and the broth was flavorful. Ingredients look fresh, though the seaweed was a bit fishy but everything else was delicious.
It’s self serving so we didn’t expect services, but the staff were super friendly and brought us our food.
Most importantly, the price is very reasonable. This is supposed to be the kind of street food and I’m not a big fan of places that charges almost $17 per pound. Here it’s only $13 per pound if you round up.
Will recommend it!

This is my fourth time here, and I’ll keep coming. It’s that good!!! Price is decent compared to other malatang places, and the flavour always hits. Go to spot.

I got the tomato soup base — it was rich and flavorful, kind of like the one at Haidilao. My friend chose the chicken broth, which was light and savory. All the ingredients were super fresh. I had bamboo shoots, shrimp paste, kelp, cheese-filled fish tofu, and sliced beef. Personally, I loved the shrimp paste the most. You can grab your own dipping sauces, the food came out fast, and the owner was really friendly. I didn’t know how to use the water dispenser, and he even came over to help me get some water himself.

New obsession — super great value for the price — if you want you can come in and just load up on meat. The portions are massive and very tasty. Here’s a picture of the before and after of my meal:
It gives haidilao vibes but for a fraction of the price and also way more customizability with what actually goes into your bowl. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Had an amazing meal at MalaTown! I got their Signature broth, highly recommend. Standout toppings were their fried mochi, fish fillets, and fish balls with roe (the round/cylindrical ones). They also have a fantastic sauce bar. The staff were so friendly and helpful too. Will definitely be back!!

This is a great place for family to try out some mala soup without a long line and all the hassle.
We have a corner seat and it was perfect for the four of us. It is mainly self serve but food is good quality and the soup is good. The place is really clean. I would recommend to anyone who wants to try it.

Their soups are all tasty (but most are spicy just a warning), staff are nice and chill, the atmosphere is comfortable and chill too! Love the drink selection!

Smaller location compared to other Mala towns hence the name express. Compared to the other Malatang spots in the neighborhood it has a lot fewer options BUT it is priced cheaper. It’s $13 per pound whereas locations like tang bar are $16 a pound. There’s a little sauce bar with sufficient options. The meat is also priced by weight so if you want a lot of protein it’s actually cheaper to get some meat slices than heavier water filled items like tofu. I liked that I wasn’t overwhelmed with options which helped me portion control my meal. In the end, I got the dry savory mix which was tasty blending savory flavors with a bit of spice.
There were flies around the sauce bar though so that left a bit to be desired
Overall a decent spot if you’re looking for an alternative to the other malatang spots in the area!

Perfect for a rainy day.
The beef bone broth is very flavorful.
The choose your own topics like wood ear mushrooms and tofu puffs were a nice addition.

Delicious, filling, and a great value, especially with the current promotion where you get 20% off for 2 people and 30% off for 3 people!
I enjoyed the tom yum soup base which is mildly spicy and slightly sweet. The soup base was very flavorful and was perfect for dipping the Chinese doughnut pieces (one of the free toppings).
One of my favorite ingredients was the shrimp paste ball. I don’t think I’ve seen that at other malatong shops, so it’s unique. It also tasted very fresh and shrimpy – I wouldn’t be surprised if it was made in house.
The interior is bright and clean. Most tables are for two people, although you could combine two tables to seat four. There’s also bar-style seating along the wall.
