Super restaurant with great food and service. It was a busy Friday night, but servers were very attentive, keeping water glasses filled, checking on us multiple times, cleaning, and yet we’re still able to have conversations with every table. Food was delicious, as always! Fried haddock was lightly breaded and fried to perfection. Garlic Parmesan haddock had wonderful flavor, with garlic not overpowering other flavors. And, of course, the blueberry pie is a MUST HAVE! If you didn’t save room for it, get a piece to go! We love going to Helen’s and return every time we’re in the area.

We went for an early dinner/late lunch. Prices here were half of the prices in Bar Harbor. The seafood chowder was a great start. The lobsters were perfectly cooked – not overdone. The meat was tender. The blueberry pie was outstanding. This is wonderful food at a great value.

Ive ever had all these years. Simply fried no heavy coating. So good you can taste the freshness.
Finished it with blueberry pie. Maine pie that is indeed world famous!

Food was good, I got the meatloaf sandwich and onion rings. The sandwich was really good, the onion rings aren’t too bad. My sister got the crab cakes but she said we’re delicious and my dad liked the fish he got. The mac and cheese unfortunately wasn’t the best. We all got a pie, unfortunately they were sold out of most of them. Got the banana split pie which was good. The service was great.

Very nice place. Popular with the locals, so that says it all! Nice view of the Machias River. Tables were clean, the bathroom was too.
The iced tea was so good it didn’t need sugar. The haddock chowder was delicious, and came with a warm, fresh roll. And that hot roast beef sandwich was perfect. Tender, fall apart beef.
Service was on point. Fast, efficient, friendly.
We will be stopping back in when we are in the area again for sure!

A local resident recommended we try Helen’s since we were heading to Machias. So happy we did!
Service was excellent! Our waitress always seemed to come by at the right time, made recommendations, and always brought what we needed.
I had the fried clams – perfectly fried and super fresh! Fries were perfectly crispy. Companion had some chicken tenders which again were perfectly fried. We were told they were famous for their blueberry pie, and I have to agree. Nice flaky crust, not overly thickened and not overly sweetened. They really let the blueberry flavor shine! A scoop of vanilla ice cream on top just ended desert on a high note.
Highly recommend!

They love, (Also all the other girls working)we love it too. Service amazing, special kudos for Sophie, she was amazing. Was lovely to met her. The drinks and food so yummy. The owners was kind and super friendly we really recommend it to everybody that wants to check it out. Machias vest place ever!!

nice place to eat. food was very good and the service was great. it took a minute to get our food, but it was worth the wait. lemonade was good as well as the lobster rolls and fish chowder. spaghetti and meatballs were delish however the noodles were very thin which some people prefer but is not my preference. mozzarella sticks are 11/10 and the marinara is excellent.

Best place in Machias, love the people and atmosphere there. I love the current, local menu there with all the great it ma of the season, including a family favorite— fiddlehead ferns. I recommend to get one of the lobster rolls or sandwiches, those are always done so well. Great collection of sauces and flavours, just ask for your fries hot!

One of the best small town restaurants in this area. The food was delicious and portions were large. Good on the pocketbook. The variety of dishes on the menu was more then adequate. Everyone in our group had plenty to eat and were satisfied. The meatloaf reminded me of grandmas Sunday dinner. The crown jewel was the blueberry pie a la mode. Excellent service! Will come back!
