With opening for dinner only, the place was overflowing, an attestment to good food, we can attest to also.
Very attentive service and ambiance aa well.
Their Palak Paneer, Malai Kofta, and Dal Tarka are all excellent. The breads (Roti, Naan, and Garlic Bread) were quite good too. I really enjoyed the Gulab Jamun, which was exceptionally soft. The Rice Pudding was decent as well.
The Nimbu Paani was average – felt a little watered down, low on sugar, and with a dominant flavor of cloves.
The service was excellent and they were quick to accommodate our large party of 8 people.
All in all, we have greatly enjoyed Cardamom over the years and would highly recommend it!
Our group of 4 ordered:
Pakora + Chicken Momos (not pictured).
Lamb Saag + Karahi Goat (front dishes, left to right).
Bhindi (Okra) Masala + Vegetable Korma (back dishes, left to right).
Onion Kulcha + Kashmiri Naan.
Everything was delicious.
My Lamb Saag was tender + creamy with the right amount of spice for the “hot” level that I selected. Made my friends sweat though!
My friend who ordered the Bhindi Masala found the sauce to be more tomato-y than they prefer. It was yummy, though I think the sauce was a bit dry/tomato pasty instead of creamy + silky as the sauces in the other dishes we had.
The highlights were the Karahi Goat + Kashmiri Naan!
The goat was tender + sauce was bright + slightly smoky as if the meat + veggies had been grilled.
This was my first time trying Kashmiri Naan. (I typically get Kheema Naan — lamb-stuffed naan; not on Cardamom’s menu.)
It was delightful! The sweetness of the chutney + the chewy-crunch of the nuts are a lovely counter-balance to the savory, spicier sauces that I like.
