Mexican restaurants are always plentiful and usually good. Zapopan has some really good food. We’ve been twice and have not been disappointed either time. The tacos are overfilled! All the food has great flavor.

I wanted to make sure I gave an honest review. This was my third visit, and the food and service disappointed every time. I will suggest the Shrimp Nacho or any chips, salsa or guacamole and the FROZEN MARGARITA. Make sure you get frozen. If you stick to these items, you should be fine. That’s all….

My family loves coming to eat here. We always love everything we get. The staff is always very nice and attentive. The prices are good and we always get in and out in a timely manner. The bathrooms are always clean.

Be aware this place is more American take on Mexican food than Tex Mex – Mexocan food. I ordered a simple mix plate of challah, chile relleno and flauta. What I got was a soggy tostada (beans smothering a fake tostada), 1 flauta again with fake tortilla (like the chips) and a sad bell pepper slice (no poblano) drowned with a ground beef sweet cheese flavor. So yeah… still hunting for a more authentic take on Mexican food. All in all, the Coca Cola w ice was tasty.

Zapopan is a great spot near the interstate in Calera, AL. Cozy and bright interior with a friendly staff, the food was fresh, the salsa is great, and the tea was refreshing! Definitely recommend this for lunch or dinner if you are nearby.

Unable to eat here anymore.
Unfortunately a lot of places now, this restaurant included, use latex gloves for prepping all of their food and my husband is highly allergic, with hives being the low end reaction and potential anaphylactic shock. Who knows maybe they will change this in the future but for now we cant eat here anymore

The food was delicious and the staff was amazing. The drinks were too strong and made me feel sick from the liquor that was used.

Food was disappointing for what we got. The Burrito Supreme was just ok, the chicken was flavored well lettuce was ok. The Chile relleno, was different from any other I have eaten. I don’t know what you would call it other than matted cheese on top of two tiny bell peppers with beef and bean underneath. The spicy sauce salsa was the one thing that saved it. I just wish they had free fresh tortillas to dress up a burrito out of it.
