We were in town and told about the chicken from a local. Sounded awesome, so we had to try it. We were sold on big portions, great service, tasty food, and a great beer list. All of these things were true.
We started with curds and broasted wings. Bu the time the main courses came out, we were already stuffed. Be careful not to overdo it like we did!
The sliders and Nashville hot boneless were both awesome: the curds were great and the wings had super flavor. No complaints at all, except my belt may be living in a new hole now.
Service was great and beer menu was extensive. All in all, everything we were sold on.
The food didn’t take long to come out. The cheese curds were pretty good. My hubby got the Nashville hot chicken sandwich which tasted great but was drenched in grease and ended up all over his face. He ended up just taking the bun off and eating the chicken with a fork and knife. My chicken bowl was so-so. I was craving comfort food. Even though the chicken was perfectly seasoned and juicy, the mashed potatoes and corn were just kind of boring. I felt like the other ingredients should have added some dimension to the dish, but even after dousing it with hot sauce it was still just meh. I was looking forward to something like a Thanksgiving leftover mashup but all of the flavors here just muted each other. I’d be keen to try something else next time.
Notes: Plenty of seating, fair prices, and HUGE portions (at least 2 meals worth on one plate).
