Las Barcas Tex Mex is not your ordinary Tex Mex restaurant. We are family oriented and ran, that doesnt mean just family because our staff members and customers are family too. Our recipes have a spin of Salvadoreno taste and cuisine. We have been in operations since 2009 and till today we continue to try to get better at our service, our food, our welcoming feeling and wont let nothing stop us. We strive to be the cleanest, to be friendly, in support of our military members, vets, and first responders. We have amazing fajitas, and enchiladas and our sopas are to die for. Come by, visit with us and let us serve you. Thank You

It’s a good hole in the wall place, in Canyon Lake. There is a lot to improve. Beginning with the low lighting that makes you feel unwelcomed. The service can be meh, even if you are the only 4 people in the restaurant. The servers do have their obvious favorites. One person ordered the 3 enchilada plate (with their new higher pricing) and received TWO enchiladas. I have ordered several dishes that suck but finally found the fajitas that were incredible the first time. Except that the menu says it comes with sour cream and you ALWAYS have to ask for it! Annoying to not get what you are paying for so I asked for some and 14 minutes after my meal was served, I finally got it. Everyone else in my party was done eating. I’m sure it’s difficult to find reliable help, that doesn’t do drugs and tweak out on the floor, but please try. I would personally skip this place all day long. On a positive note, most of our crew likes this place for the prices and the serving sizes.

Here’s a clean, ready-to-use 200+ word restaurant review you can post anywhere. It’s upbeat, confident, and doesn’t sound like AI fluff.

From the moment you walk in, this Mexican restaurant makes a strong first impression. The space is clean, welcoming, and thoughtfully laid out, with plenty of room for large groups without feeling cramped. Whether you’re stopping in for a casual dinner, celebrating a birthday, or hosting a big family gathering, this place can easily handle it. Parking is another big plus—there’s ample space, so you’re not circling the block or squeezing into tight spots.

The service here truly stands out. The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely cares about making sure you have a great experience. Drinks stay filled, food comes out hot and fresh, and you never feel rushed—even during busy hours. It’s the kind of service that makes you want to come back.

Now, the food is where this place really shines. Everything we ordered was packed with flavor, well-portioned, and clearly made with care. From classic Mexican favorites to house specialties, each dish tasted fresh and authentic. The salsas were excellent, the meats were seasoned perfectly, and nothing felt rushed or mass-produced. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they serve.

Overall, this restaurant hits all the marks: amazing food, excellent service, plenty of space, and easy parking. It’s a solid choice whether you’re local or just passing through, and it’s absolutely worth a return visit.

It’s just not worth the price. I ordered the puffy tacos, my tacos were hard and full of grease. The taco meat was gross. My husband said his enchiladas were good.
Food took awhile to come out and it was not busy. Service was ok. I think if they changed the vibe of the place on the inside and improved the food and the cooking, it would really help. Also the price was high for what we got. Again, the beef enchiladas were good.

Good (not great) TEX MEX … service was fantastic worth a try.

I appreciate you asking what would make it great … my rating was dropped a star because of the enchiladas sauce… tastes like canned maybe just a bad day because my wife is vegan and y’all made an amazing dinner special for her. We will try again

They will Place a 10% gratuity/service charge pickup orders.
And this will not be known to the buyer until you get your receipt back after adding tip and processing payment.IT IS NOT on the original/First copy that you sign… iIT IS Only on the copy you receive After payment has been processed , Very Shady practice should have been notified in person before payment or over the phone while placing the order.
But I guess that’s a lot of work getting it from the kitchen to the front desk for me to walk out with it will be the first and last time I ever eat there
I recommend the other one that give you a free margarita with purchase of food and they will let YOU pick how much extra you wanna pay to the server!
REMINDER Tips = To Inspire Prompt Service
No servise was provided when I pick up my own order. Hope that 10% went to the cook..

We were two couples- one Texan, one out-of-state – looking for a Sunday morning breakfast in May of 2025. Only a few other patrons came by, so our server Crystal gave our table her full attention and helped us with our orders. A four-item taco and horchata was plenty for me. Mike had wet biscuits and was cleaning his plate ten minutes later (he’s a Marine, but we forgive him). Our wives noticed the restaurant and bathrooms were very clean. They also gave us a nice military discount. Thanks, Crystal! We would definitely like to come back!

Delicious food, the service was excellent and the restaurant was super clean. Everything was made fresh to order. Fresh homemade tortillas. I highly recommend this restaurant, if you happen to be in Canyon Lake be sure to stop by for breakfast. You won’t be disappointed.

We went here because the website said they were open. However, the entire place was dark. We try to remember to call places before we go in case this happens but we did not this time. So partially our fault. But it would be nice to keep the website and or Facebook page updated if you’re going to have one.

We were looking forward to it but cannot speak to how it is at all because we didn’t get to go there.

Save yourself!!!!!!!! The prices on the menu are different than what you will actually get charged they have a whiteboard in the very front off to the corner with actual pricing that is extremely overpriced for 3 entrees and one coke it was $67!! The food quality was horrible everything tasted like dirty grease the only positive was the sweet waitress.
