I had a great meal here.
Ordered the Texas nachos.
They were very good and piled high! The shrimp were cooked just right, not overcooked like other places.
The salsa was flavorful but I prefer it to be chunkier.
I’d definitely stop in again if I’m in the area.

Fajita was hot and okay, steak was a bit on the bland side. Service was quick. And there’s an additional service fee charge on your receipt.

This is probably one of our favorite restaurants in the Lavonia area. They are pretty consistent. Good drinks and beer options, the margaritas are really good. The menu has all the typical selections that you would expect to find. Service is pretty good most of the time as well.

Mexican food is my favorite and I’ve dined on it more than any other across the country and in Mexico too. So I think I’m a fair judge of what’s good and what’s not. The Mexican dish I had at this restaurant was among the worst I’ve had. It was bland and barely edible. The margarita I’m pretty sure had almost no tequila in it. At least the staff were friendly.

The only reason we stopped by here was by the recommendation from someone while we were in town, they had a decent crowd of people here, we were seated in the very back. Was very surprised that with a bar here and lots of mixed drinks on the menu, when I asked for something specific I was told no. Our waiter got us tea and water, did make an appearance back to get our order and that was it. We had to wave him down to get extra napkins and never got refills on our drinks, I didn’t care for the nacho plate, hubby did like his mushroom plate and rice. I definitely won’t be back here.

Good atmosphere, decent prices, and getting chips and salsa before my meal is always a good way to make me feel welcome. My dinner was good, and I had a beer too, which I needed after being on the road for a long time. If 3.5 stars was an option, I would have done that. My reason for not giving it four stars is because I felt like my meal could have used more flavor. I got a tomato sauce versus a red Chile sauce, which I thought would have made it all delicious. Also, I noticed the guacamole did not seem to be made in the restaurant. Still, this was a good meal, and I’d recommend this place.

I’ve passed by here countless times, but this was my first visit. first impression of the place was pretty good. Everything was clean and looked fine. The chips were good, but the salsa was served warm and didn’t have a lot of flavor. The salsa picosa was good and mixed well with the mild. My kids enjoyed their quesadillas. My Texas rice was a very big portion, and the flavor was okay. The staff seemed much more interested in hanging out with each other than offering service to customers. The service we did receive wasn’t overly friendly. We arrived at 6 and it was mostly empty, which seemed odd until I realized what many people already have. There are far better places around to have a good meal. I won’t bother coming back.
