They do partial validation for the parking.
Sunday meals are brunches, with a prix-fixed menu. The options are good. Just be prepared.. the service is sooooooo slow. Our brunch took about 3.5 hours!!! And we constantly had to go fetch the server so we could ask for something or to ask them to speed it up.
Update: came back after a year. Place is still amazing. However prices went up but I am unsure that this is justified. Service was amazing, though. Next time, we are thinking on just eating at the bar or the adjacent tables.
Great view of the lake. Food and service were good, but probably one of the worse molasses breads I’ve had. Cocktails were good as well. Pricing was a bit high but you are paying for the ambiance and the views
Food- 4 stars
Bread- the free bread was very disappointing. The molasses bread was probably the worst I’ve had. One bite and I was done
Short rib- this was very good. Perfectly cooked and very delicious
Chicken- the dark meats were good and juicy. However, the breast was pretty dry. Sauce was solid though
Service- 4.5 stars
Service was relatively fast and attentative. Had a few moments when we had to flag down our waiter, but was usually taken care of well
Bottom Line
Solid restaurant with one of the best dining views of Lake Tahoe. Skip the bread
I booked a reservation online which was fast and simple. We were happy with our table, having a nice view of the lake. The service was above average in general, lacking somewhat at the front door and host station, however, our particular server was very attentive with great serving etiquette.
My girl ordered the gnocchi, which was good but not nearly as good as the half chicken that I ordered. I was impressed by how quickly our food was prepared. The presentation of the dishes was pleasant and they both had great aroma.
Our server and cook staff were gracious enough to give us a sample of the pumpkin and banana soup which was so good I placed an order of the dish to go.
The fresh baked bread was a great addition to both of our meals.
Many of the dishes that came out of the kitchen looked great, and the rest of the menu had very enticing options that I would love to try upon revisiting.
I recommend Lone Eagle Grille based on my experience at the restaurant and as a foodie.
What truly sets this restaurant apart, though, is the ambiance and service, both of which are outstanding. The atmosphere creates an unforgettable experience, and the staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome.
With the Lone Eagle Grill set to close in February, it will be deeply missed. If you’ve never been, I’d recommend visiting before it’s gone—the overall experience might just justify the cost.
First pic is a roasted peach salad, then Caesar, then elk loin, then Bison, then a chocolate desert with a juniper whipped cream, infused rum cake and gold leaf.
