The live music added to the atmosphere. The food was pretty good. My wife’s steak was supposed to be medium rare. One half was. The other was medium well. The CFS was pretty good.

The atmosphere was by far the best thing… our server was kinda slow. Didn’t get drinks refilled and missed a side for a good 30 minutes. Had to ask to for.. we stayed for over a hour and 45 minutes before getting food. Then another 30 for that missing side.. steak was dry and cold. But the kids had fun and that was great seeing.

First time at this location. Live music… presentation of food-10. Taste-9 (wife’s cooking-10). Portion-10. Our waitress Sara Nicole she was very attentive-10. Price is reasonable. No regrets whatsoever! It’s a must!

Toby Keith once sang a song about loving a certain place and I love this place, including the food, service and surroundings.

Arrived at 11, had our food at 11:45. There were 4 tables filled. The staff was friendly, service good.

Rating is based on the 45 min food wait. I saw my food taken to another table accidentally, and taken back into the kitchen. A few minutes later it was brought to me. I think our waitress was serving in order, instead of bringing the food out when it was done. The other table was a large family, and there were only 2 of us. My food was cool, close to cold when I got it.

$7.99 banana pudding to go was about a 3/4 cup serving. Very disappointed.

My husband’s chicken was dry. His veggies were warm, but the rest of our food was again cool.

Waitress did good with refills.

And like the other review, corn nuggets are a $2.99 upcharge when menu lists them as a reg side and not a premium side. Waitress told me there was an upcharge, but I was still surprised.

Was our first time. Nice to try something new, but we will stick to Texas Roadhouse.

From the moment we walked in to the moment we left we were greeted with great staff. The food was awesome, great music and our service by Julianna was perfect! We were just traveling through but this is now a definite stop when we get back this way!

I had the rib eye cooked medium and it was delicious. It was flavorful and cooked perfectly. We had a large party with over 30 people so it took a while to receive our food. The children enjoyed the slide. They also have an area for live dancing. Our server Rhonda was awesome. While it’s a cool place to come out, I’m not sure I’ll be back just due to the distance from home.

We made the 1 hour trip from Garland. This was a very nostalgic trip for me. When I was growing up, the Trail Dust in Mesquite was my favorite restaurant. –I loved the slide, the dance floor, and all the cut neck ties on the wall. (I’ll get to that shortly)

We were seated immediately upon arrival. The menu isn’t too big, and is easy to navigate. We went on a Friday at lunch.

This location had a dance floor, full bar, and most importantly a SLIDE! The decor is “Texas Barn”.

Someone told me to bring a blanket for the slide. The stairs for the slide are pretty narrow. My daughter loved the slide. They do have two rules .. you must wear socks, and no screaming. I went once, but it was a little too bumpy at the end for my large backside.

FOOD and drinks –
The adult sodas are served in large glasses , beer was cold —

Mozzarella sticks were tasty, my guests had Chicken fried steak and catfish. Everyone loved their food, and it all was a great price. I was excited to have a Friday lunch special. For the bargain of $13.99 I had a delicious 8 oz Ribeye. Our baked potatoes were also stuffed generously with toppings.

Our server did not clear anything off the table, our empty mozzarella basket sat from the start of the meal to the end.

None of us were offered refills.

Our server brought the check over without offering dessert. Then our server stood talking to another table for 10+ mins while I waited to pay. I didn’t understand the hurry to drop the check, and ignore us. This was REALLY frustrating.

Biggest disappointment – I wore a tie intentionally to have it cut off. The tie was never acknowledged during our visit. My girlfriend asked another employee about it, and that employee told our server. Our server asked about the tie as she brought over our check after being processed.

I don’t know the “tie cutting protocol” , but felt incredibly frustrated by being ignored for an extended amount of time.

I would love to go on a night when there is live music.

Very disappointing experience at Trail Dust Steakhouse. The place was dirty, and the bathroom didn’t even have paper towels. My steak was only seared on one side and tasted overwhelmingly of garlic. The salad was old with wilted lettuce. Service was slow and unfriendly.

What’s most sad is that this place used to be fun and great years ago. Now it’s just a shell of what it once was—like losing an old friend. I won’t be back.
