Great place to watch Olympics. Staff very friendly and kind to this frozen senior citizen coming off a hike around nearby pond on a VERY cold day.
Bartender was so kind. I ate at the bar and watched ice skating.

GO HERE! You’ll thank yourself after for going! The food and service were both superb! I got the fried cheese curds and the farmers burger with waffle fries. The cheese curds are the perfect duo of crispy and chewy, paired with the house sauce it was so tasty. The burger was ultra flavorful and the bun was such a pleasant surprise. Its texture was soft and yet had substance to it, it was not spicy at all. Seth was an excellent waiter and was super hospitable!

The food was… Different. My friend got the Caesar salad and the dressing was nothing to write home about. It wasn’t fresh and zesty. It was like a cheap off-brand of dressing. I got the turkey avocado bacon sandwich and the turkey was very over processed and almost to the color of ham with a very soft and almost slimy texture that did not pair well with the toasted multigrain bread. I got it with cheddar cheese instead of Swiss and the whole flavor and texture combination did not pair well. The seasoned waffle fries were great though. So were the pickles.
The nitty gritty is known for their birthday parties. But they play this birthday song that goes on and on and on… Forever. That was really annoying. Our server was awesome. Are drinks were always refilled. The food came fairly quickly. I really just expected better quality food for the price.

I recently visited Nitty Gritty in Middleton and had a fantastic time! The vibe is lively and welcoming
The food was top-notch my burger was juicy and flavorful, and the cheese curds were crisp and perfectly golden. The menu has something for everyone, including gluten-free and vegetarian options, which was a nice bonus .
But the real standout was our server, Linn. He was upbeat, attentive, and genuinely friendly throughout the meal.
Highly recommend Nitty Gritty for a fun, laid-back meal with great food and service. And if Linn is working definitely ask for him.

I judge my burger experience on these things
My burger was good, but dry. This isn’t the restaurants fault, I had to order well done due to pregnancy. Probably should have ordered something other than a burger. But I threw some mustard and ranch on it and I was happy.
P.S the onion rings are also delicious

1st time here, the food and service were very good I received a free mug, soda and a mini sundae, and a card for 1 sundae month for a year. When we are back in the area, we will definitely be back.
My husband and I both had reuben sandwiches, he had french fries, and I had a side salad with raspberry vinegarette dressing, which was delicious.

I was on a trip to the area and wanted to try something new to me. Turns out this is a big place for locals to go for their birthday.
Menu is full of options. I ordered black & bleu dry rub wings and a chicken cobb salad. The salad ingredients were all fresh and it was definitely enough for a meal. The wings were some of the best I have had in a while. Not overly sauced, crispy outside, tender and juicy inside.
Unfortunately, they seemed to be having problems with the CO2 system on the taps as we had a table of flat drinks. We asked the waitress about it. She said we were not the first to say that and walked away. No offer for something different, no suggestion of available bottles or cans, no discount on the tab.
Our server was having other problems that night, maybe she was new. The other servers tried to pick up the slack where they could which is the only reason service is getting 3 stars.

This was probably the worst food I’ve had. It had ZERO flavor. It was like plain unseasoned canned chicken wrapped up. The ranch was like water. It was so disappointing for a bday meal to say the least. The bday cup and sundae were cute. I’m only leaving the one star because of how absolutely tasteless and disappointing the food was.

One of the best places in the Madison are for really good tasty burgers, dripping with juicy goodness. I like that they ask how I would like my burger cooked. They’ve also got lots of options to jack up your burger even more (I like the fried egg.) Everyone, from the waitress up to the manager, was super friendly. It’s git a fun family atmosphere. I also like the outdoor seating. Overall, a fun place to bring the family, and the menu does not disappoint.
