This place has great food! We started with the Bavarian pretzels which come with three pretzels and cheese and mustard dips. I had the roast beef sandwich which was stacked and had great flavor and onion rings. My buddy had the BBQ sampler with the pork, ribs, and brisket which he said was delicious. Of course the beer options are endless as there is a very large list of options draft or bottled/can. The service was also very good and I will definitely be stopping by again!

We had an amazing experience here on a Saturday afternoon, family of 5 and two small pups that like to bark occasionally…..they welcomed us with open arms, even though our young pups were misbehaving a bit the waitress made us feel so comfortable and welcomed. We were able to order two plain pieces of grilled chicken for the dogs which was great. The food was delicious, I think that we ordered too much food, but my tacos and Mac and cheese were delicious along with a perfect margarita. My son is so picky, he only eats fries cooked perfectly of course and devoured them! My older daughters loved the jukebox app they have available to purchase and play music. We will be back! Thank you for your kindness and making us feel welcomed!

Great menu options and friendly service. Everything was super tasty. My wife said the French onion was some of the best she’s ever had. The burgers were cooked perfectly and the chicken bites were tender and flavorful.

After driving for 16 hours, getting to our hotel and trying to find food late evening in Scranton… Backyard Ale House came through in a pinch. The got the kitchen to make us food at end of shift which we are most grateful for. Ryan was our server but everyone helped us. A beer, a martini and some food…

Wow!!! My husband and I recently moved to Scranton and we were looking for a local restaurant to give our business to. We came across this place and I’m thrilled that we did!!! Every staff member who walked past our table asked if we were doing okay or if we needed anything. They were all so friendly!! We decided to eat out back since it’s a gorgeous Spring day. I was expecting to sit there and swat bugs away but nope, the “ceiling” is screened with pretty lights shimmering above. The atmosphere was fun. The food…the presentation was amazing and the taste was even better!!! We will definitely be regulars and will bring our family when they visit town!!!

Had a really enjoyable meal with a great group of people. The temperature of the outdoor space in the rear was not their fault as it was 10 degrees outside – but it got really cold.
Possibly the best Smash Burger I have ever enjoyed and the cole slaw was amazing as well (spicy). Surprisingly, the fries were also delicious with just the right amount of salt and cooked perfectly. I also had Cabernet by the glass which is not something you can get everywhere.
The rest of the group ordered the normal burgers, sandwiches and salads and ALL plates were cleaned. A few rounds of beers were also downed without complaint.
Overall. It was a GREAT VALUE and a Great Time!!!

Enjoyed my time here. Was a little rough when I arrived, and didn’t know where to sit or order, as they only had two folks working the floor – which I think is unfair to them, as once they acknowledged, and were able to tend to us, they were very pleasant and on it!
The food was great! Really enjoyed the vegetarian options in the tacos, and the chicken sandwich was a hit (it was recommended)! You’ve your staple drafts and a respectable choice of spirits. Really casual vibe and the music was palatable.
So, just to note: 1) there is additional seating in the back! 2) Perhaps better scheduling of staff, as the two lovely ladies that helped us were great – but overwhelmed. And it makes sense, the place was fairly full.

We stopped in for a drink because most of the bars downtown were closed. The mackenzie’s black cherry cider is out of this world, as are the french fries with chili and cheese. We had already had dinner, but I would have loved to have tried their barbecue because the smell was incredible.

Food and Drink are excellent here and are the sustenance to our life here on earth. Sandwiches in particular plus the smoked meats make it a must visit if you want real food and what is Scranton. This is where they held the Office reunion years ago. Burgers, brisket sandwich, chicken philly and even the salsa are top notch, high quality, and most importantly very tasty. Beer selection.,.. taps are great and their canned/bottle selection takes it up a notch. Also, they are only closed on Tuesdays so you always have a place to eat even if you arrive on a Sunday. Lastly, Wednesday is wings night and the smoked wings are a must have.

The food is very good had the BBQ bacon burger and fries. Very good the staff was very nice lots of room to sit I would recommend this to anyone in the area to stop in get some food even have a drink here is some of the food looks good taste even better
