We have been voted best in the tri-state for bar-b-que, wings, and bike night. We decided to eat here today.
The place was very clean and music was just right!
We could definitely talk to one another without screaming.
We tried the fried pickles and they were delicious!
My sister and Mom both got the 2 meat platter (one got the bonesless wings with the spicy honey bbq with the smoked sausage, fries and coleslaw, the other got brisket, grilled chicken, baked potato and coleslaw) and they enjoyed everything BUT the coleslaw. It was tasted weird like it had too much mayo and was old.
I got a Monterey Jack Philly with sweet potato fries. It was okay, (if I try a Philly again will definitely do the pulled chicken), it needed a sauce or something and I personally didn’t like the sweet potato fries, they needed to be crispy.
Our server was the BEST!
We will definitely give you all another try.

Haven’t been here since 2004, recently moved back around the area. Tasted the same as before! Absolutely wonderful! Would recommend this to anyone, bbq fans or not this place is great!

In town for work, usually go on wing night and have had the office catered. Sat at the bar tonight excited to get some good BBQ. Waited patiently for 15 minutes as folks walked past me and didn’t acknowledge me, I decided to get up and leave when the one bartender started washing dishes in front of me and didn’t say a word. I don’t care how good their food is, their customer service is lacking and I just won’t be a patron of this restaurant anymore.

Everything we had was amazing. The ribs were perfectly smoked. The BBQ was delicious. I don’t think you could go wrong ordering anything on the menu. * skip the house made chips other than that go wild and have someone in your party order different things. That’s what we did and shared. The service was top-notch as well. We even got a fresh, warm cookie for the Little in our party at the end. Thanks, Buddys team. You all rock.

I’m new to the area and decided to try Buddy’s. I pulled up in the drive thru lane and another car was at the window. After 3 or 4 minutes the car drove off and I advanced to the window. I sat for another 3 or 4 minutes and watched 2 employees walk in and out near the window without taking my order. I figured they must be too busy to wait on me. Not wanting to add to their workload, I drove away and went to Captain D’s instead. I cannot express an opinion on Buddy’s bbq. But Captain D’s was good.

My son chose Buddy’s one day for lunch. I had ate there two other times and wasn’t impressed. This was the 3rd time I had their brisket… unfortunately I still do not like it. However the pulled pork made up for it. I got green beans and mac n cheese for sides….awesome! Hush puppies Camden with it as well. Probably the best ones I’ve ever had as they weren’t greasy. What I can tell you as well is their wings are probably some of the best around….never had a problem with those. I think the food has improved considerably. Yes I will go back but not for brisket. Also….try their deserts! I got something with a a brownie…a sundae and it was really nice! If you like bowls…they have those as well!

Stopped by today after being in WV shopping. We’ve been looking for a great BBQ place since moving to Olive Hill, 3 years ago, and we sure found it!!! The food here is FANTASTIC!!! Some of the best BBQ we’ve ever eaten. We started off with an order of Nacho Supreme, with shredded pork, for an appetizer. They came on a huge plate and started the meal off right. Next, we both ordered The Rib Combo Platter. We had BabyBack Ribs [that had just the right amount of sauce on them] and Beef Brisket. Both meats were very tender, moist, and cooked to perfection. Our sides were Baked Beans, Cold Slaw, and Potato Salad. While they were all tasty, the potato salad hit the spot. The potatos were actually cooked till done, creamy and flavorful. They will definitely be one of our go-to sides every time we visit. Hubby had garlic toast while I had hush puppies. We did taste the BBQ sauce in the clear container at the table. Like everything else in the place…Mmm Mmm Good!!!

Boyfriend and I decided to stop here while visiting Huntington to scope out Marshall University and BOY HOWDY. This food alone makes me want to go to grad school here. The ribs were to DIE for, meat nearly falling off the bone and everything. They had the perfect amount of sauce and the flavor was *chef’s kiss* (pardon the piece of meat missing in the picture, I could. Not. Wait.). The Mac n cheese was perfect, and so were the baked beans. He got the pulled pork and smoked sausage, both of which were cooked and sauced to perfection. The garlic bread was crispy and buttery but not overly greasy. The onion rings had thicccc slices of onion and were super crispy but not dry. We ordered to-go and it was ready in 10 minutes. Staff was friendly and super speedy. 10/10!!
