First night in New York we walked past this place and I saw a picture of Howard Stern in the window. The family wanted to try a deli diner a few shops down.
Second night i suggested this place as if it is good enough for the KOAM then its good enough for me.
We went back on the third and fourth day too. The cheesecakes are amazing and the sandwiches are such good value.
Combine that with a stereotypical New York style service to complete the whole experience. I would go back to new york just to go back here.
If we had somewhere like this in England I would be there every day.
Definitely recommend going if you are in New York.

It is a great place to have breakfast. We ordered our muffins and Mexician Chicken Chix Chipotle with coffee and orange juice. They were very delicious and the prices are good!

Went to dinner here and got the Ruben and cheesecake. Ruben was good but the cheesecake tasted a little fake / not homemade. But other than that it was a nice place to grab a quick bite.

Nice spot to grab a meal or some sweet treats. I know its New York, but it can be pricey depending on what you get. It hit the spot!

Iconic NYC deli. Conveniently located across for Carnegie Hall. Lots of space to browse the deli counter, and extra seating upstairs. Great place to stop and take a rest in the middle of the day.

Food is good. Pastrami sandwich was pricy, but enough for two and came with two pickles. Staff was friendly. Pastrami was slightly above average, could be juicier. The pickle was super garlicky and tasty. Cheesecake was also good.

Location great. Food good. People nice. Would recommend stopping here with no worries.

Had an excellent breakfast burrito and my wife had a breakfast sandwich on am everything bagel. Both were hot and delicious. They also had a ton of delicious looking pastries that I wish I had room for.

Got an Italian sub and potato salad. Both were very good. Prices were decent and the location is within walking distance to both central park and MOMA. Would recommend if you’re looking for an affordable lunch that doesn’t disappoint.

We bought 5 huge delicious muffins and a large chocolate croissant for breakfast the next morning in our hotel. Oh! They were so moist and tasty! The muffins are large & the croissant was massive. 4.40-4.95 each which was cheaper than the deli down the street. The deli down the street wanted $6 each and they were smaller. We also grabbed a few juices to go. Nice men working behind the counter. Homemade without having to cook I will say, I read other reviews and don’t agree with their issues on pricing. Everything is priced on the board & you can also ask. Food prices are high everywhere & this is New York City, super close to Times Square so you have to expect that. Honestly though, $5 for a muffin is only .50 higher than my hometown so I was pleased. I noticed the amount of meat they put on a sandwich is very generous so I’m sure that makes sense too in their pricing. Good quality and good service at a prime location establishes the price. It’s a great value in my opinion.

Once you come to terms with spending $25-$30 for a single real deli hot pastrami/ reuben / corned beef sandwich (with one pickle)… pretty much anywhere in NYC… you will have a standard reliable experience here. Staff weren’t rude or rushing anyone to order… but they weren’t friendly at all either. The pastrami was delicious, cut in half, and was large and more than enough for two people. Pickle was large and crisp. We mainly came for a cannoli and we’re surprised at the little thumb sized pastry that greeted us in the display… but not near as surprised as when we paid $4.50 and it could be eaten in a single bite… that aside, it was OK but nothing special. The place is clean and has a very nice upstairs seating area. Bathrooms upstairs are locked but can be opened by a code printed on your receipt (no one tells you this). Overall it was fine but unremarkable.

For the presentation, it’s 5 stars, but once we tried them, the cakes were a disappointment. Muffin, cheesecake, loaf cake—I’ve had much better outside of New York. A shame.
