As always some of the best seafood you can get. I prefer to eat at Dales for my seafood, and the oyster roast are a hit with alot of people. They also have full salad bar, steaks and the beef tips are great.

I live in the area. Years ago the food used to be delicious. Not anymore. I have ordered here several times in the last couple of years and it’s been consistently terrible. The Lake Waccamaw or Tabor City locations are much better.

I visited dales just for a nice salad bar. When I noticed the lettuce had lots of brown and red leaves. I picked through the salad and continued to add other things on my to go plate. I then saw the cucumbers and they were bad!!! All of them!!!! So I asked a server could he bring more out. He came back and said the manager said no! It’s places like this that NEEDS our money to stay in business and this is how they think of their customers. Brown lettuce, soggy cucumbers, and bad customer care. They did not even change the salad bar out! I just left and will never return again. Any chance I get I will definitely tell others that may ask. DO NOT EAT AT DALES IN WHITEVILLE!!!!!

We found Dale’s on Google and gave it a try. We LOVED it and April our waiter. The small, sweet, low coutry shrimp can’t be beat. We don’t eat oysters, but there were lots of regular customers there in oyster heaven. Lol I had one of my favorites, the shrimp in drawn butter.Brings back childhood memories of Calabash. I just wish I had thought to order rice. Next time! The place was clean, and all the folks were friendly.

I ordered a wet oyster roast, they came out super dry and some of them were green. But we really wanted them so we kept eating – thinking it was fine. We got maybe 3 or 4 good ones while they were warm. Once they just kept getting worse, we asked to speak to the manager because they weren’t good at all. She proceeded to ask us why we ate so many and that she couldn’t take the whole thing off the bill. We never expected her to do that, we just didn’t want others getting sick. Instead of taking half off or something, she took our drinks off the payment.

Anyone who knows me knows I support small businesses especially restaurants.
Sadly this time was a failure. Long busy day with a lot of driving. There were no restaurants that I could find. 30 minutes from home I ran across this place and was especially excited it was a seafood place.
Immediately seated. Waitress (Dana) super nice. Told her it was my first time and I needed to look at the menu. Small menu for a seafood house and it looked like the only fish served was flounder. I stay away from flounder because it has so little meat. Then I find at the bottom they also have catfish and whitefish platters .I like catfish but decided on the whitefish. I ask about what comes on the platter and I was told “Virginia Mullet”. I never have had that fish so I decided to try it. I’m told it’s 3 pieces with fries and coleslaw. Perfect. But I also opt to add the DIY salad bar which was very good.
The plate finally comes out and it looks great. I had laid out a napkin for any trash I had which I always do. I grab the first piece of fish with my hands and it crumbles apart before I can get it near my mouth. The 2nd piece does the same thing with half. I barely get a taste and there is less meat than the flounder. Dana comes by and checks on me and I show her the large pile of crumble and tell her what happens. She apologized and offered to go back and get me more. I just tell her to bring out one piece as I’m losing my appetite. I then try the coleslaw and it’s on the dry side and warm. I expect my coleslaw creamy and cold. I finally eat the 3 piece of fish and there is hardly any meat. I’ve had it and ready to leave. It’s been a while and my replacement fish hasn’t come out and I start gathering my phone to leave and Dana brings out a rather large delicious looking piece of fish. I don’t say anything to her but I sat back down. This piece as some meat on it but still less than flounder.
I don’t know if it was the fish or how it was cooked but my stomach started getting queasy from the grease. I wouldn’t recommend this fish to anyone.
Dana did a good job and tried to make things right. I didn’t blame her and left her a good tip but I don’t recommend this place. There are several places, fast food just pass this place that I should have stopped or just drove the last 30 minutes home but I had been on the road for hours and missed lunch so I was really looking forward to a good meal. Sadly not today.

The service was FANTASTIC! Cannot say enough about how lovely our server was! Hushpuppies were tasty. BUT- The food was all from frozen. If you are cool with that, you’ll enjoy the place. If you are expecting a bit more bring so close to the coast, go else where.

Was riding through Whiteville and decided I wanted popcorn shrimp for lunch. Did not disappoint. For $12.75 I got a full salad bar plus my double order of fried shrimp. Coleslaw was sweet with a nice flavor profile.
My waitress was very friendly and refilled my water when it was halfway everytime even though she had many other tables. Definitely a hidden gem in North Carolina. 5 star review
