The toast on the scramble was far too toasted, as was the ciabatta on the Okie Dokie. The ciabatta was especially unpleasant, as it was too crunchy and hard to hold the sandwich innards, and it created a flat, hard space to simply squish the sandwich toppings out.
While we appreciated being seated in the bar area without any wait time, it was super dark. If this area is going to be available for seating, I would suggest one or two more lamps since we couldn’t even differentiate the bacon from the sausage on the plates. This photo was taken AFTER iPhone adjusted the lighting.
The prices are too high for what you get. The breakfast sandwich pictured was $17.
However, if you are vegan, there are LOTS of options on this menu for you!
Balanced, not greasy, and quietly confident. The name alone captures the irony of eating in Seattle right now.
This is how I remember this place.
Oak lives up to its name — warm, wood-toned, and grounded in comfort. The space flows through three unique zones: a lively front bar with dining, a lounge, and a cozy back bar (our pick for the night). The vibe isn’t my typical scene, but you can instantly feel the local love.
The pumpkin bisque was rich, velvety, and soul-warming on a cold Seattle day ️. I appreciated seeing vegetarian options on the menu. Service was friendly and efficient — though I always enjoy a bit more interaction.
Accessibility is thoughtful (wheelchair-accessible restroom), though note the 3–4 stairs to the back bar. Not a kid-friendly spot — this one’s for the grown-up unwinders. My Manhattan was balanced and satisfying.
Overall, Oak feels like that spot you revisit with friends for easy conversation, comfort food, and a cozy pour. ✨

Food here is delicious and like their no egg options.
If you eat animals. When you go here just get the chicken. Trust me on it. Whether it’s the chicken pot pie, the chicken tenders, the chicken kale Caesar salad, the chicken sandwich… Just get the chicken. Maybe the fried pickles too but definitely the chicken.
