This is my favorite chinese food restaurant in Gainesville for authentic American chinese food. As far as i know, you cant find dim sum anywhere near here like you can get in this place. Delicious. One thing I dislike is the coating on dishes like sweet and sour pork etc. should be crispy on the outside and still not be dried out in the center. Every time i come here its different. 1st time it was perfect but never since. Ive had it crispy on the outside but hard and stringy on the inside then this last one the pork was only a tiny bit dry but there was almost no crispy coating at all. The sauce was out of this world and so were the bell peppers. Then the fried rice was perfectly done and the vegetables with garlic sauce were so fresh and not overly cooked and had crispness still. That sauce ! Omg!
Please fix your sweet and sour pork and similar dishes to have a nice crispy coating and tender insides and make them consistent and then this place will be perfect.
If only you could recreate the Sweet and Sour Pork from the street stalls we used to get in Kuala Lumper back in the 70’s and 80’s. What I wouldn’t give for that!

An Absolute Gem! Two Incredible Spots in One Perfect Location.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

What an amazing find in Gainesville! I’m so thrilled that Yummy House and Bakery 1909 are located together; it’s the ultimate one-stop shop for an incredible meal and a perfect dessert.

We came for dinner at Yummy House and were blown away. The food was absolutely phenomenal – fresh, flavorful, and authentic. The service was also top-notch and very friendly. After such a delicious meal, we couldn’t resist stepping right next door into Bakery 1909.

The bakery is a true heaven! The pastries are beautiful, fresh, and so delicious. We got a box of assorted goodies to take home, and every single one was a masterpiece.

The convenience of having these two fantastic businesses side-by-side is unbeatable. You can enjoy a fantastic savory meal and then treat yourself to a sweet, perfect ending without even having to move your car.

If you’re in Gainesville, this is a must-visit spot. Five stars without a doubt for both Yummy House and Bakery 1909. We will be back again and again

Yummy House at Gainesville is a place I’ll never go back to. The food was okay, although the dumplings had no sauce. We could manage the food, but the attitude of the staff, especially the one with the name tag “LUCERO”, was unbearable. Please work on your attitude. We don’t need to be reminded constantly that you’re closing soon. On the other hand, thankful for other staff members like Elias and the Asian guy, who have ethics and provide good customer service.

Thank you for the follow up. The appetizer ordered came last after we almost finished the meal. we ordred authentic dishes. Flavors wise they were blank, did not taste the freshness normally coming from authentic Chinese cooking. Even the soup did not taste right in terms of texture and flavor. it was quite a surprise to our adventure. Hope you can continue to improve.

The staff here are on the top of their game! Present and knowledgable, the service was excellent and top speed. Entrees were about $15-25 depending on the dish and are well worth the price point with high quality ingredients and generous portions. I ordered the House Style Chicken Clay Pot with a side of white rice, and needless to say, I was pleased with my choice. With a variety of dishes and flavors, we are already planning our next visit!

Their salt & pepper mix is amazing. I’ve tried it on chicken wings, tofu, and calamari. All of it was excellent!

This was my first time trying the restaurant, and the food was very good. The portions were perfect for my family, and we really enjoyed the meal.

However, I had a strange experience when it came to the tip. It was the first time someone made me feel like I had to pay a tip. I did leave a tip, and when the employee told me “that’s it?”, I explained politely that tipping is my choice, not something mandatory.

Her smile suddenly turned into a look of disgust, and she ended the interaction with a cold “have a good day,” which honestly made me laugh at how unprofessional the moment was.

Great food, but the customer service needs improvement.

If you have a seafood/shellfish allergy, please ask if any dish has seafood or shellfish, even if the menu doesn’t explicitly say it contains that. We got chive dumplings that didn’t explicitly say what meat was in it, but tasted like it could have been shrimp. We aren’t allergic through, so no worries! But in case anyone is, please check with staff first before ordering dishes! Food is very tasty and would go back again! Also, the staff is very attentive and nice! They will come by often to check to make sure you got everything you ordered. The menu is very big; there is something for everyone. I recommend getting the dim sum.

This is one of the best restaurants in Gainesville! Each dish portion is big enough to share so this makes it a great restaurant to try with a group of friends. Word of warning one soup will feed like 5-8 people! Anything on the menu made with their black bean sauce will be delicious. This is one of their signature sauces. We had the shrimp and scallops with mushrooms in the black bean sauce and it did not disappoint! The House Rice is also a favorite of ours. Get a group of friends and enjoy trying new things!
