My wife and i are foodies, love traveling and finding the best restaurants. This is absolutely one of my top 3 favorites.. it’s recognized as Michelin Bib Gourmand but in my opinion it deserves a star. From the quality of food to the presentation to the atmosphere, a truly incredible experience. If you’re in Cabo, this is a MUST! Don’t forget to say hello to Dice, the sweet dog that greets diners

Found this place last minute and luckily got a reservation for dinner via Open Table. We tried calling the restaurant several times for reservation but couldn’t reach them—-not sure if the line is working at all. We didn’t know that this spot is Michelin recommended so we definitely got more excited to try their food! When we got there, we were impressed with the ambience of the outdoor dining area. It just felt so cozy, especially with the decor. Service was excellent, with the servers frequently attending to our needs without us having to ask. However, I’m giving the food a 3.8 star rating because it was hit or miss. We ordered a variety of tacos to try—the octopus and bone marrow were our favorites. We also enjoyed the Tetela de Chamorro. My friend ordered the beef rib as recommended by the waiter but it was just okay. The portion size was good but we felt that it wasn’t seasoned well. We enjoyed the Picanha more as it was better seasoned and grilled. It can also benefit from a different side other than the asparagus with garlic puree. I was excited to try the huitlacoche croquette that came with the dish but I couldn’t really taste it, it could’ve been executed better. All the dishes were a little too heavy and needed something to lift them up. The best thing we’ve had the whole evening is the paricutin cake—IT IS TO DIE FOR!! We should’ve gotten two instead of ordering the flan . Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and we were glad to meet the resident perro!

This is a fun place to have a good and reasonably priced meal near the city. Not within walking distance to much, but that wasn’t an issue since we rented a car. The food was served in elaborate presentation, and the service is helpful and chatty. Omar was fantastic. We ordered the shrimp ceviche (the best thing we ate!) with charred tortillas. Beet salad was very nice although it’s labeled vegan (we are not vegan) and it certainly has cheese all over it lol. The lobster tail is delish although slightly overdone. The sauce it is in is amazing!!! Pork shank ..hmmm…pass. a little gamey and fatty without the flavor it should have. Corn cheesecake was nice. Rounded out with tamarind jalapeno marga for a perfect touch.

This was honestly the biggest delight for a foodie. Better cuisine than anything I’ve had in the US in the last 8 years that I’ve lived there. The cocktails were amazing and the food was without a doubt Michelin star worthy. Our group had the catch of the day, grilled Octopus (incredibly delicious), beef rib and fillet steak. 4 of us with cocktails, mains, and a dessert was $250 US. There was live music and the atmosphere was delightful with a restaurant dog doing the rounds on all the tables… adding to the charm.

The food was absolutely delightful, and the servers were truly fantastic, making our experience even more special. It was the perfect place to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. Thank you, Matate, for creating such a beautiful memory with divine food.

Vibes were immaculate, service was amazing, but the food…why yall lying?! We booked a resy bc of the bib gourmand but we only enjoyed the mixed ceviche and the crab taco but the octopus and pork shank…the pork shank was SO dry and the sweetness of the date puree did not pair well with the octopus at all. I wish we could’ve liked it more as it was my Birthday dinner but my conscience does not allow it. Omar, our waiter, was so friendly and great!
The flies, even with the fly swatter-thing, were rampant. It flew into our pork shank as soon as it arrived so we had to ask for a new dish.

I was so happy to find this spot on our trip to Cabo. It’s a bit off the path, but so well worth it. You’ll want to make sure you add this to your dining experience while you are here. They have received the Michelin star a few different times, and the food was outstanding. We had an amazing outdoor dinner, and all the dishes were delicious and a sight to behold. I had the Picanha and the Grilled Corn were so tasty. I had a variety of margaritas and thoroughly enjoyed our time together.

Beautiful garden setting for a romantic dinner. The food was fabulous. We had the bone marrow, crab tacos, seafood risotto and grilled octopus. The presentation was impeccable and the service was incredibly friendly. If they have the special margaritas, try the tamarind!
