Our server was fantastic, though the host gave us and another party a hard time for “outside food or drink ” when we hadn’t finished our morning coffee(the other group had a refillable water bottle kinda odd”. We sat outside for about 15 minutes, it was a nice day, so I won’t knock them for it. Just be aware if you’re visiting.
Upon arrival the restaurant was empty. We appeared to be the only people there. Our wait staff was nice enough, service was mediocre. Nothing stood out as either bad or exceptional.
The menu was eclectic. We ordered the pork belly egg rolls as an appetizer, which did not arrive until after our meal. Three of our party ordered the Washoe Burger, which looked good. All three at the end of the meal indicated the hamburger was not good. They indicated the flavor was off and tasted bitter. All three indicated they would not order again.
One ordered the Short Rib Grilled Cheese, which happened to be the best choice with our party. He indicated it was good and he would order again.
I ordered the Pork Belly Bahn Mi with sweet potato fries. I prefer pork belly a little more cooked although it was good. The aoli sauce on the sandwich made it. I had not tried kimchi before and it added a nice touch to the sandwich. The sweet potato fries were good but about half of what was served were overcooked.
We had to pay for metered parking on the street outside the location. You could also park at the courthouse parking which was a block away and on the weekends is free.
Overall it was just an okay experience. With multiple choices in Reno and Midtown I dont know that we would go here again.
They have happy hour cocktail prices and small plates of some menu items as well. Recommended for sure. Sorry about the melt and grilled cheese pics. Realized we had not taken a photo after we were enjoying the meal
From a service perspective, just ok. Not the friendliest host or server. Did their jobs without much fanfare. A couple of our orders didn’t come out as ordered or expected (cheese when none was requested, well done burger for medium). I think we got one refill of water, but no iced tea refill.
Again, I would say their biggest draw is their menu. Definitely had some interesting dinner items and I would actually come back just to try some. Who knows, maybe it was just an off day for the restaurant.
The venison burger was good, as was the harvest salad. The pork schnitzel? Absolutely amazing. Crispy, comforting, and perfectly seasoned. And the mac and cheese was delicious.
Every single dish was great. Service was friendly, the atmosphere was inviting, and the food made the whole birthday dinner feel special. Highly recommend.
I will be coming here again at some point to experience more. I look forward to my next visit.
