We came in at 11am. They were semi busy but greeted us and sat us immediately. We chose our table and they took our drink order. Our waitress came promptly after , made sure our drink order was taken and gave us menus and gave us time to order. Our drinks came and then our waitress came back to take our order. We placed our order and our food was delivered fresh and hot by another gentleman in about 10-15m. The presentation was great. Large portions. Everything tasted amazing. The French toast was fluffy and flavorful. My greatest appreciation was how well the staff worked together. It was smooth and with great communication. Very quick and everyone was so cheerful and polite. We were seated, ate and out the door before 12. (Less than an hour). The atmosphere was comfortable and we didn’t feel rushed at all. We were able to enjoy our time and the food because of how well they did. $48.95 (food & coffee not including tip).
Thank you all!
The food, the omelette was pretty darn good, lots of good ingredients, enough to share.
The hash browns are not good at all. The potato used was dry and tough a bit and didn’t cook up well. How is this being served? Does the cook and owner not understand the difference between great hash browns and this (opposite)?
The gravy added is from a can and tasteless.
The toast is low quality bread. And the dreaded Smuckers tray… nothing decent for spread.
The server was super and tried with a new side of hash browns, again it’s bad.
The owner needs to try their own food or get someone who understands the difference to correct a few letdowns in the food.
The course pepper doesn’t come out of the pepper shaker.
Delicious Philly Cheesesteak and fries. Tasty potato salad and grilled cheese with lots of ham. Huge sodas, no need for a refill!!
**Definitely need to update their website. The menu prices listed on their website are significantly lower than the actual restaurant menu prices.
The food was delicious and, fresh, and quick to our table.
There is a parking lot, but depending on time of day, it might be hard to find parking.
Overall great find!
What truly sets this place apart, however, is the outstanding customer service. The staff are incredibly attentive without being intrusive. From the moment I walked in, I felt genuinely looked after. They were quick to offer recommendations, check on the table, and genuinely seemed to enjoy their work, which adds so much positivity to the experience.
And then there’s the food—it’s genuinely amazing. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and well-prepared. I ordered the Eggs Benedict with hashbrowns with a side of buttermilk cakes and sausage, and was blown away by the quality and flavor of every single item; it’s clear they use high-quality ingredients and take pride in their menu.
If you’re looking for fantastic food served with a smile in a lovely, cozy environment, you absolutely must stop by. Don & Sweet Sue’s Cafe in Cathedral City is a new favorite!
Rosie was our server and she was knowledgeable about the menu items and super friendly. Ask her anything and you’ll get a solid answer.
I had the chicken fried steak with hash browns and eggs. The breading is crispy. The steak tender and moist. The gravy was thick and chocked full of flavor. Added biscuits and that was 100% the right move! Thanks Rosie! Eggs are cooked perfectly. Runny yolk mixed well with the gravy and hash browns creating various textures and flavors.
The Florentine Eggs Benedict delivered! Great sauce over poached egg and spinach. English muffins were standard and did their job well. Has browns were also standard and cooked to perfection. Crispy outside with tender potato inside.
Seemed like the entire staff worked well as a team. Felt very mom-and-pop kind of place in that you were welcomed into their home.
Would 100% go back.
