At That Lebanese Place, we bring the rich flavors and warm hospitality of Lebanon to Springfield, crafting every dish with passion and tradition to create a cozy, inviting experience that feels like home. We’re driven by a love for authentic Mediterranean cuisine and genuine connections, making every visit a celebration of culture, community, and unforgettable taste. In 2012, my family and I took a bold step and launched one of the first food trucks in Springfield, Missouri—That Lebanese Place. Our mission was to provide healthy and flavorful meals while staying true to our family’s culinary traditions. Before long, we outgrew our food truck and decided to move into our permanent location on C-Street.

We visited this Lebanese restaurant and absolutely loved it. The food was amazing and very fresh. The dolma was the best I’ve ever had – truly outstanding. The hummus was incredibly smooth and delicate. The meat was excellent, and the lamb in particular had absolutely no strong smell, which is very rare. Everything was cooked perfectly. Highly recommend this place!

We were here for Valentines day and had a great meal! The menu for the night was spot on and at a very reasonable price. We’d been wanting to come down for a while, but hadn’t yet. I didn’t get a picture of dessert, but that’s because I wanted to eat it and forgot. The baklava was sweet like it should be, but not overly so and you really got the crispness of the pastry. We’re already looking forward to our next time to come over.

Got the Chicken Swarma, Lamb Swarma, hummus and grape leaves. All items were DELICIOUS. The owner, Elie, was so so sweet! He provided excellent conversation and wine recommendations. The restaurant is warm, inviting and they play wonderful music. Overall, this is some of THE BEST food I’ve eaten in years and fully intend to return soon. The grape leaves are so incredibly flavorful and sweet, definitely one of the highlights of my experience. Service was fast and kind. This place is awesome!!

Good cozy restaurant in Springfield. The service stands out though a bit slow the positive energy stands out. We had rhe lamb and rice, tea , baklava and beef skewer. The flavor was subtle but I personally would love a little more of that flavor. The seasoning on the meat could be improved. Overall a ‘may viait again’place

Tried the hummus and the falafel wrap—both were packed with flavor and really well done. The place has a cozy vibe, and prices are totally reasonable for the quality. Ended up chatting with the owner too, who was genuinely kind and welcoming. Definitely a spot that makes you want to come back.

A little different than the Mediterranean food that I have experienced.

As a true ultracrepidarian, I could (but won’t) guide and enlighten you about nuances, characteristics and eminences that make Lebanese cuisine distinct. Chow that is similar, but different from that of the many other countries residing on the coastline of the Mediterranean Sea.

If you are familiar with Lebanese food, scroll on to something else. My superficial knowledge of the food will be apparent; failing to demonstrate any mastery of the subject matter at hand. In addition, this review lacks terribly in writing proficiency.

So. For the rest of you that have not tried Lebanese; this is a must try, “IF” you like Mediterranean food.

Enough. To the point. There are three items at That Lebanese Place, that I rate as excellent. And that is compared to all other Mediterranean food. 1. Beef Kafta Entrée, 2. Tabbouleh, and 3. Lebanese Salad (unique delicious). Enjoyable, you won’t go wrong with these. The Chicken Shawarma Entrée, Meh, too much cinnamon for me.

Now try something new, Fool! That was not a personal attack. That is the name of the dish. Makdous is also something that everyone should try. (see pictures and menu) I’m not getting into the details of either. I don’t want to influence your first impression of the food.

Small place, comfortable, in a historical building, downtown. Parking nearby. Food made fresh, so it takes a few minutes. Service, Friendly/adequate.
I still like Greek better.

This is good food, period. Authentic, tasty, and soul hugging. Their garlic sauce is addictive and the hummus is finger-licking. We had the Lebanese Platter with lamb kabob and chicken shawarma. Platter is definitely big enough for two. It was a bit of a wait, as they are family run and a little understaffed, but the food you get is worth the wait. Next time you are on C street you need to give it a try.

Here are my problems with this restaurant:

1. The first time I went the place was empty – not another patron on site and it stayed that way the entire meal. It was a Tuesday so I thought nothing of it. The second visit was a Saturday night and it was just as empty. How do they stay in business??

2. My second problem is the wait staff. There is barely one, as you’d expect, since there are no diners. What little staff there is, is either no where to be found or they don’t speak English. So make sure you don’t need anything after placing the initial order, because you’ll never see them again. But the place has nearly a 5 star rating?!

3. My final problem and this sealed the deal, I will not be back. The one redeeming quality of this place is the food is good… if they have it… last time, they had no Spinach pie and something else I wanted. In all fairness, what I did have was excellent, which was why they got a second visit. This time, they had nothing that I wanted. Everything was “out”…at 7pm on a Saturday night. So I had a salad. It was ok and I won’t be going back.

We were told that the were out of everything because of Christmas. That was Thursday, it’s Saturday and ok if you’re out of so much, maybe wait to go shopping before opening? Idk… just a thought.

So sadly “That Lebanese Place” is a no for me.
