This is a restaurant known for their tacos, and I had the three-taco plate here, with a lengua, al pastor, and namesake carnitas taco delivered. This plate also came with rice and beans.
I’m a little bit mixed on this.
The carnitas taco is definitely the one to get here, as it was clearly the best. It was absolutely loaded with the pork shoulder; practically falling out of the taco (and the tortilla wasn’t super small either). This pork was really fatty and quite juicy. It had so much fat that I don’t think I could have more than one, but the one I had was really good.
I thought the lengua taco was also decent. The meat was well-flavored and tender, and again – there was a lot of it.
However, the al pastor was extremely dry. It’s not supposed to be a lean cut of meat, so I have no idea how it ended up so tough. This was some of the worst al pastor I’ve had.
I wasn’t a huge fan of the corn tortillas used here. They were pretty chewy, and not very soft.
Additionally, I think the lack of option to add cheese hurt here. There simply wasn’t enough beyond just the meat – so the taco just tasted like tortilla + meat + the salsa. There were two salsa cups, but to divide them amongst the three tacos meant there wasn’t a whole lot per taco.
I did like the rice and beans, though. The beans were particularly nice.
For the price, this is around $15, and it’s quite filling – so I would call it a pretty good deal
Overall, I think if you’re not getting the carnitas, the rest of these are a skip. 6.5/10

I’ve lived in this neighborhood for many years and was always curious about this place because it’s always so busy. However, the lack of a clear storefront and the fact that you can’t see inside made me hesitate to try it. Finally, a few friends visited and insisted we try this ‘hole-in-the-wall’ spot.
The food was actually pretty good and we enjoyed every dish. The process is simple: you order and pay at the front counter, take a number, and they bring the food to your table. Overall, it was a great experience. I’ve since gone back for takeout a couple of times and will definitely recommend this place to my other friends. The prices are very reasonable too!

The food tasted okay, I think it could’ve been better, the steak tasted kind of like ground beef, or maybe asada is ground beef.
The best part of the meal is it sits very well inside of my stomach, unlike some Mexican food, the food feels like it always wanted to be eaten and is happy to be inside my stomach. It is not trying to get out.
All of the sauces on the table are black, I’m used to red and green, so black sauce isn’t for me.
The vibe inside is very nice! Yippie for that

Our meal was delicious, big, everyone was super friendly, and service was very fast. We live quite a ways away, but might just organize errands to end up here for lunch. When you order the carnitas, and you should, get skin etc because it’s easily half the flavor. As an aside, whenever I go to a new Mexican restaurant, my initial test is to taste the beans. Test passed – every bit as good as what my friends in Baja California make at home.

Walking by this neighborhood and finding this place with high rating on the map. Its exterior looks meh but their food is beyond amazing! Super reasonable price with probably the most authentic Mexican food I find in town. Their homemade Caldo De Res is too good to miss! The Quesabirrias is delicious too.
