Me and my friend went there to try this new restaurant. Outside it looks inviting but they’re situated in a weird like crossing that if it’s your first time (which is the case), you will have a hard time finding the parking lot, and compared to their seating capacity vs their parking slots, I imagined it will be a nightmare on a busy night.

We go inside, excited as we are, we glanced on the food that is on their bar type presentation, small bar and the display foods are kinda so-so in my view. But we still went ahead and the server explained to us how it goes and how the ordering works and what is included on what we’re getting.

The ambiance is a modern Japanese look, cleanliness is really good, music wasn’t too loud and you can see all the people enjoying the food and we witnessed the staff singing 2 happy birthdays to their customers. Kudos for that.

The food, one of my favorite food to order if it’s available to any restaurant is takoyaki, and they have it so I ordered it and I was disappointed, but I told myself, let’s try the other food. We went to the “bar” and got the shrimp shumai and pork shumai. Again, I was disappointed as it’s the type that it’s not made from their store but rather was bought somewhere that is frozen as I used to buy them also like that before. We got the stone crab, there was only 2 in display so me and my friend got it, she liked it and it’s my first time eating stone crab so there’s no baseline comparison but they didn’t refill the stone crab again and my friend wanted another one but to no avail.

I liked their agadeshi tofu and their bao bun, we thought it comes in 2 as that’s what it shows picture but only got one, the tempura is kinda dry, the type that it has been sitting in the kitchen for a while and you can tell it by the texture

We ordered some sushi, and I used to work in a sushi restaurant before so more or less I am familiar with sushi quality and it disappointed me again.

I usually give the restaurants I review another shot and maybe the next time I come back, it would be a more pleasant experience.

First time visiting this all-inclusive sashimi spot and we went with the premium option ($75 per person). For what’s included, I honestly think the price is pretty reasonable — especially with unlimited wagyu, uni, oysters, and toro. As a huge uni fan, that alone made it worth it for me.

The raw oysters were decent, though I personally prefer them grilled. That said, the overall food presentation really impressed me. I didn’t expect this level of plating from a buffet-style place — everything looked thoughtfully prepared and nicely arranged.

Our server was super sweet and attentive, which made the experience even better. There’s limited free parking next door, so keep that in mind.

Overall, I’d definitely recommend giving this place a try, especially if you love sashimi and uni!

Umiya in Alexandria is a whole experience. From the moment you walk in, you can tell it’s not just dinner — it’s a vibe. Three floors, a rooftop bar, and all-you-can-eat? Say less.

The variety on the menu is impressive, and everything came out fresh and flavorful. The wagyu? Yum. Absolutely worth it. If you’re going to do all-you-can-eat, this is the way to do it.

Service was good — attentive without being overwhelming, and everything came out in a timely manner.

If you’re in Alexandria and want options, quality, and a fun atmosphere all in one spot, Umiya is a solid choice. I’ll definitely be back for that rooftop.

We came here for our son’s birthday. Customer service was exceptional. We were greeted at the time we entered the restaurant. The receptionist was polite, friendly, and patient. She explained the menu and how the buffet worked here. Dee was our server. He explained the menu and how the buffet worked here again. He recommended us the foods for our premium package. He was polite and attentive. Also, the rest of employees were very nice. They came out to cheer my son’s birthday with real love, no fake.
The foods were delicious and fresh. They made the foods very tasty and beautiful too. Our family agreed that it was worth every penny.
The restaurant was organized, clean, and fresh. We will come back.

The dishes at Umiya were plentiful and presented beautifully! The sushi rolls were also massive and the hand rolls were one of my favorites. Their prepare food bar definitely needs some work. The food was good but was not warm and dishes were empty throughout the night. Definitely go with an appetite and stick to the menu!

Overall, this was a satisfying dining experience for the price. The premium option is worth trying at least once, and the overall food quality was good. While it was a bit disappointing that some premium items could only be ordered once, the majority of the dishes were well prepared and enjoyable.

The restaurant itself is spacious, and the service was quick and efficient, which made the experience comfortable. However, there is some room for improvement when it comes to hygiene. Although the dining area was very clean, I noticed one server wiping multiple tables (including ours) while carrying used , dirty napkins from other guests. Seeing this during the meal was a bit unpleasant.

The restroom could also benefit from more frequent cleaning.

Aside from these points, the food was solid overall, and having two parking lots made parking very convenient.

Today I chose the premium option. What I really wanted to eat was lobster and oysters, which were both very good. However, the sashimi was just average, not great, but not bad either. There was a wide variety of food to choose from. I think that for people who eat meat, the premium option is definitely worth it. But since I don’t eat meat, I feel it wasn’t really worth the price, though I still enjoyed the variety of food. The service was attentive and the atmosphere was nice. I went in the morning, so the wait wasn’t long and it wasn’t too busy, but after noon it gets very crowded.

First time at Umiya Alexandria. We made a reservation and were seated downstairs, which required walking to the food bar. I was wearing high heels, so I kindly asked the manager if it was possible to move upstairs. Even though the restaurant was very busy, he was incredibly kind and helped us right away. The food was good, but the service truly impressed me the most. Thoughtful, caring, and welcoming that made the whole experience memorable. Would definitely come back again. ✨

This place is really popular, and you can definitely tell by how crowded it gets. Because of that, the food came out a bit slowly. I’d recommend ordering everything you want at once, or ordering ahead so you’re not waiting too long.

The wagyu served per table was the best part. It was delicious. The sushi itself was just average. Overall, it was a nice experience, but be prepared for a bit of a wait due to how busy it is.

Very good premium menu favorites were the wagyu spoons, oysters, and all of the nigiri…so everything. Waiter was great and they kept the food coming. Forgot to take a pic of the drinks menu, but there are more cocktails than listed here that are good too!
