One of our party has a pecan allergy. The server warned us about a potential cross-contamination, allowing us to eat our meals with confidence.
The bathroom was clean and comfortable. We chose to eat inside, but the outside dining options looked fun.
We arrived at 510pm, server came and took our drink order at 515. We got our drinks and she asked if we were ready to order, I ordered the seared tuna appetizer and it was really good!! 20 minutes go by and we’re asked our main course, I asked what she recommended, she said the thick pork chop or steak. I opted for the pork chop, my wife got pizza. About 35 minutes later another couple sat next to us and the waitress proceeded to tell them about elk chops was a special, why weren’t we informed about this special? No idea, also the next 3 people that got sat were also told about this. So we’ve been here about an hour and 20 minutes at this point and our food comes out, the pizza was chewy and Luke warm, I have cooked a better pork chop as it was like warm as well, the taters were cool and it was just only okay at best!! The people that were sat 30 minutes after us got their elk chops and salmon about 10 minutes after we got our food.
I feel like our plates sat in a warning area for 15 to 20 minutes before being brought out, I was deeply saddened by the first experience, and the waitress also told several people that was this slow time of year, I really would hate to come when it’s busy.
With this being said the servers did do their job well, as I’m not sure I’ll be back yet.
And the food and service are amazing. I always ask to sit at the bar because that the best experience.
Their parking situation is terrible! Probably 8-10 spots on the front with a busy road that to must back out into with poor site of the traffic blazing over a blind hill. Parking on the side is parallel parking in spaces barely big enough for a vehicle.
We had reservation even though it was a week night and not busy. It server must have been a Yankee, short and all business. Definitely not Southern hospitality. We waited almost an hour for our food and nothing tasted fresh as their signage and website implied. Most dishes we had tasted like they were prepared from frozen. Specifically, the chicken was tough, rubbery and had a little pink on the thicker side. The “ground filet” burger tasted like the cheapest tube-beef burger ever ground, and over cooked. The pork rinds appetizer looked and smelled great but was over done as well. I have had 10 times better/softer pork rinds at a county fair.
The setting was an old craftsman style house that has been converted into a restaurant. It is nice but obviously not maintained well. Looks like the floors haven’t been polished since the day before they first opened.
I really strive to say positive things in reviews but there really was nothing I would say to encourage anyone to visit. I didn’t complain because there is no reason to complain. I didn’t want anyone there to try and do something to make my negatives into positives. I wanted to have a positive experience without having to ask then to give me one. I also hate when businesses reply with something like “contact us and we will make it right”. If you want to make it right, make it right all the time. Don’t ask how to do better, simply do better!
