We were a family of six with young children. Early on, four clam chowders came out cold and had to be sent back to be reheated — and even after that, they still were not hot. Appetizers followed and were lukewarm at best. The mussels tasted fishy and were prepared with jarred garlic rather than fresh, which was disappointing and noticeable. The calamari was soggy, and nothing arrived fresh or properly hot.
When our entrées came out, multiple dishes were overcooked and still not hot. Both prime ribs were ordered medium/medium rare and came out closer to medium well. Lobster add-ons were rubbery. One entrée was barely touched because the shrimp tasted off and was inedible. Several of our kids refused their meals entirely, saying they tasted bad.
Our server took a long time to check back. By the time issues were addressed, we were already trying to manage hungry toddlers. I explained that my prime rib was clearly overcooked, but my toddler had already started eating it and waiting for a remake wasn’t realistic at that point. Given the circumstances, this could have been handled proactively by management.
When we spoke to the manager, he seemed more frustrated with the mess left by our toddlers than concerned about the consistent food issues across the table. While some items were discounted, a full entrée that was essentially uneaten was only partially comped, which felt unfair given the situation.
What made this even more disappointing is that my wife and some of our kids left still hungry. We ended up stopping elsewhere afterward just to get everyone fed — and unfortunately, that meal was noticeably better than what we were served here.
This was a $200+ meal where most of the table left disappointed. We weren’t looking for free food — just hot, properly prepared meals made with basic fresh ingredients and reasonable handling of obvious problems. Sadly, this experience confirmed that the quality and consistency still aren’t there.
We won’t be returning.
Went at noon, and there were no hostesses available for seating. Waited 15 minutes to be seated. Emily, my waitress was very pleasant.
I ordered the chicken breast with mashed potatoes & asparagus in a white garlic sauce. It was amazing !! Server was Debra(I think) Excellent service . When I come back, I will probably request to sit in her section…and order the same thing if it is on the menu
There were only 3 other people in the bar area when we arrived (a little after 6) & the dining room was empty. It was a Monday night & those 3 left within the hour & no one else came in while we were there.
We ordered a couple of Black Jack Margaritas.
We eventually perused the menu. They had a well priced specials menu. I’ve ordered the fried seafood platter off of that before & it is a lot of food. But we decided to split the crab cakes appetizer off the regular menu.
They arrived promptly. 2 nice sized crab cakes, perfect for sharing. They were full of crab & not a lot of filling & the accompanying sauce was perfect. Everything was tasty, but it was cold!
So we sent the crab cakes back.
They didn’t just reheat the original dish, they replaced it. The 2nd attempt was heated through perfectly.
We would definitely reorder again.
Our check for 3 margaritas, 1 chardonnay, & the crab cakes came to about $52.
