Enjoyed a large family dinner of 13 here. Split the butternut squash shrimp pasta and braised bison with my partner. Would get both again. Shared the elk sausage and brie dishes with the table. Would probably only get the elk sausage again.

Sucked down three Oaxacan Sting cocktails.

Vibes were classic and charming. Classy but not imposing. Very #colorado.

After a long trek on the Chautauqua trail and playground fun, this was a cozy spot to get some lunch. The staff was able to accommodate us as a walk in and the food was really good. Definitely recommend the bison or turkey burgers and OMG the butternut squash soup.

The food was absolutely delicious and the pricing was amazing considering the location and pricing of other restaurants nearby. Our waiting was good, but also handling a lot of tables, so we didn’t get much time with them. Still very nice and got our food to the table fast. The atmosphere was also beautiful. Lots of beautiful nature to enjoy while enjoying the food.

The atmosphere here is dreamy with unbeatable Flatiron views. The pork chili is seriously spicy (and delicious), and even the omelet packs some heat. Our server was fantastic—friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better.

Parking tip: Chautauqua has its own lot right by the dining hall, but from Memorial Day through Labor Day (and on weekends/holidays), you’ll need to pay. It’s $2.50/hour and you pay through posted QR codes or the ParkMobile app. Outside those peak times, parking is free. The QR system works fine once you know it’s there, but it can feel like a hassle if you’re not expecting it—make sure your phone’s charged and you’ve got a signal.

Bottom line: The food and views are worth it, and with a little parking prep, your visit will be smooth. Talk a stroll on the path after your meal

I had a great visit at this historic dining hall. Great history and background. It was not crowded but service was a little slow and the salmon I had was fairly bland. Overall, recommended!!

I highly recommend visiting this dining hall. The historic building is beautiful, and the wraparound porch made for an awesome brunch with beautiful views. The food was also outstanding. Pineapple mimosas, sausage appetizer, bison burger. We stopped by while biking. There were bike racks nearby to lock up which we appreciated.

Nestled right at the foot of the stunning Chautauqua trails, this charming restaurant is a perfect start—or reward—for your Colorado hiking adventure. We had breakfast here before tackling the Royal Arch Trail (a beautiful but demanding hike with plenty of climbing and elevation), and the meal was just what we needed: hearty, fresh, and satisfying.

The outdoor seating is an experience in itself, with panoramic views of the mountains and meadows bursting with wildflowers. After the hike, we couldn’t resist stopping by again for a well-earned snack, and it was just as enjoyable. The service was warm and attentive throughout.

Highly recommend this spot—whether you’re fueling up before a big hike or just soaking in the scenery with great food!

We got a table outside with an incredible view and perfect weather with no wait on a Friday in May, just after Graduations. My husband and I both ordered the Chautauqua burger, and our son ordered the Bison. The Bison was very tender and very tasty. The potato bun on the burger was not dry– I appreciate that. And the burger was perfectly cooked. The tomato seemed fresh although not super tasty and the bacon, imho wasn’t cooked enough. I asked for Swiss instead of cheddar cheese and noticed they had taken off cheddar to substitute the swiss– I also appreciate that because they had a full house, and it could have been a long time for a replacement. The fresh cut in house fries were yummy and addictive– the pound I gained yesterday was probably from them. (Consider yourself warned.)
There’s a 4% surcharge on everything for the kitchen staff– this is an fyi just in case you also don’t read the really tiny writing at the bottom of the menu.

My dining experience here was lovely. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and the service excellent. I believe the menu could use some updates and the food some enhancements.
