Always loved this place since I was a kid. It had never let me down. Haven’t eaten here in 22 years so I will update you on the quality of the food. Congratulations to 71 years in business. The sides have lost their touch the Mac and cheese was bland the baked beans came straight out the can the green beans are ok. But the BBQ turkey ribs were on point. Tighten up yall.

Due to the treatment I received today.
I came in to order as usual but it was a long line. I waited because I love the food.
But YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS BAD. The cashier comped an attitude with me because I said I wanted a “Turkey Tip Dinner w/HOT SAUCE” instead of a Turkey Rib Dinner. Honest, mistake but as She “so called tried to correct me. She got any attitude and everything afterwards was rude. After I placed my order.. she proceeded to Talk to the cook/Prep person about me. Like I was a problem. Saying “Everything its supposed to be hot even tho she said mild.” And continued to talk crap where I could barely hear the foolishness. & Barely wanted to say have a great day. Tossed my food at the window and went back to the prep table.
Due to that I WILL NEVER AND I MEAN NEVER SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS AGAIN.
Won’t recommend people to come here either like I used to!

I come here exclusively for the house made sweet potato pie it’s AMAZING! The meat falls off the bones, the cornbread I eat alone because it’s just so good! Everything on this plate was less than $20 and I ate twice!

I was in Indy this week and this institution was a stone’s throw from where my cousins grew up. They’re in their 60s now but as kids their dad would take them Bar-B-Q Heaven for ribs. A bunch of us stopped in and my cousins did the ordering. We had ribs all around including a chicken and ribs combo platter, a whole mess of sides including string beans, potato salad, Cole slaw, and baked beans. The BBQ was legit and the ribs were delicious! I’m more a babybacks with meat falling off the bone guy, but these ribs had a LOT of flavor and I loved the sauce. I loved the smell of smoke as we got out of the car and the original old school decor (72 years!!). When I’m back in Indianapolis I’ll def return!

Great staff, good prices, large portions. The only bad thing was the sauce. Even the spicy sauce was too sugary I just couldn’t get into the sauce. I would recommend getting the sauce on the side in case your experience was the same as mine.

Great customer service but the food (sides only I don’t eat pork) bbq sauce was ok food isn’t hitting ya need my Mac and cheese recipe and cook those greens a lil longer also add some beef bouillon cubes for flavor please
