Haven’t been here in a while came in today 9-30-25. Got the meatloaf, mashed potatoes with gravy, and Mac and cheese. The person with me got chicken broccoli Alfredo meal with salad. As an appetizer we got mozzarella sticks.
Good: 1. Portion size was huge even with prices very large portions. 2. Mashed potatoes and gravy tasted great. 3. Mozzarella sticks were very good. 4. Salad was delicious.
Bad: 1. Meatloaf was very dry. Tasted as if it was at least a day old. 2. Meatloaf was bland and tasted burnt. 3. Chicken broccoli Alfredo the noodles were way over cooked and pretty much turned to mush.
The manager on duty did comp the meal even though I was prepared to leave the food and pay full price. She did also ask us if we wanted it remade however the food had already literally put a bad after taste in our mouths. So kudos on that but sadly I feel we won’t be back. Pictures included.

Refiner’s Fire
Was passing through on our way back from a Virginia Tech game and we are so glad that we stopped here. my husband and I were raving. We have never been to a breakfast spot where everything was literally cooked to perfection we had a wide variety of items. My husband ordered the meat platter and added waffles, I had crab Benedict and everything was amazing. Perfect grits, perfect home fries, perfect waffles! Best of all, Malena, our server was super kind and attentive. The place was clean and efficient. We loved it!!

Excellent service. Our waitress was efficient and very sweet. I had the breakfast skillet which was healthy and perfect. Coffee was good.
The place is very clean, nice environment.
Only thing…I would put doors to the back hostess station. No one needs to see the backstage set up. Plus there is a door to the outside right over there which brings in cold at the back booth.
Highly recommend.

This place is really really good. It was my first time here and I ordered the sunrise burger and my husband got the country fried steak. Both dishes were really good.
The only reason I give it a 4 and not 5 is because I believe the steak was a bit smaller than what we expected but the flavor was totally worthy. We are definitely coming back!

Foodies & Friends
Unfortunately a “NO” for us. The food lacked flavor and was just extremely bland. I had the Blackened Shrimp Alfredo. I will admit my portion size was pretty decent, but it was deprived of seasoning. My wife’s salmon dish on the other hand looked like it belonged on the kids menu. She was literally missing 3/4 of her main course. I understand business are trying to make money, but skimping your customers on their portion size isn’t how you should do it…

The service was fast and the wait staff were all very friendly and helpful. I hate that I’ve forgotten our server’s name. She was great! And another server was kind enough to take our picture with our long time friend we hadn’t seen in years! The restaurant was clean with a warm, welcoming feeling. Again, a lot of that was the staff. We enjoyed our meals and had leftovers to take home. Looking forward to visiting again when we’re back in that area.

We stopped here after a 2 1/2 hr drive from Southside Virginia and had lunch. We had the Tuscan Chicken and the Shrimp Avocado Salad. Everything was very good and a great taste. Service was good and parking was right outside. The handicap parking is to the right of the building not outside the front door. Not much of a walk but just something I noticed. Everywhere was clean and we would definitely go back.

Passing through, booked hotel for overnight stay. Got stranded cause of weather. Hotel staff strongly recommended this place and we’re so glad/ happy we did it! omg the food was delicious and amazingly on point! Our waitress Corienne, hands down knows how to treat her customers! She absolutely went beyond her services to give us a most remarkable dinner! If we lived in this area(from Houston tx) we would definitely be a regular customer! 10 stars! My whole family was content and absolutely happy ! To the owner of this establishment, you have one hell of a crew at this location! Especially Corienne!

Amazing service by Amanda and the food was wonderful!! I order Shrimp & Grits anywhere I go that serves them but I am disappointed about 75% of the times. NOT today! They were amazing! The grits were flavored and cooked well, the shrimp was not overcooked and the andouille sausage had just the right kick!! My husband’s Cowboy Burger was also just as wonderful! The burger was flavored and cooked medium as he requested. The bun was toasted and the toppings were fresh! Thank you Mr Angelle for a pleasant experience all around!
