Amazing food ruined by slow and incompetent service.

Some of the tastiest Colombian food in the area! Absolutely try the different dishes and juices. That being said, don’t go hungry or if you have anything to do afterwards.

Over 10 minutes to be sat, over 10 minutes to have anyone come get the order. Approximately 20 minutes for the tostones and 40 for the fish. They added something I had asked to remove so they took the fish back to scrape it off the plate. They very nicely offered me a substitute that they never delivered. Asked for hot sauce when we got the meal and it was delivered after we were done. But, again, delicious!

Las Americas Restaurant and Bakery is fantastic! The chicken with mushroom sauce served with rice, fried plantains, and beans, was absolutely excellent. Add the empanadas and the trip is well worth coming back, they’re that really good. Everything I tried was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the cozy atmosphere makes it a great spot for any meal. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic Colombian cuisine!

Tasty Casual Spot for Colombian Food!

We visited for lunch as a group of 7, and the space accommodated us perfectly.

The Venue: The atmosphere is casual and homey—perfect for a relaxed meal with family or friends. Note that all seating is indoors.

What We Ordered:

– Maracuyá Juice (with water): While refreshing, I didn’t feel it was worth the price ($4.25). It was more watery than I expected and not very thick…it was like a Jumex with water .

– Chuleta de Cerdo: A generous portion, which I shared with my husband. It was delicious and well cooked.

– Maduro Side: We love maduros, so we ordered it. It was well-prepared, but I think it could have been a bit riper for the ideal flavor.

Service: The waitress was attentive and friendly. As a nice touch, she gave us an extra piece of chuleta for free!

Parking: Ample parking available, which is always a plus.

I’m giving it 4 stars because it’s a solid choice for a casual, tasty, and affordable lunch. The only things I’d improve are the juices and the ripeness of the maduro. But overall, I would definitely return!

Try the Pastel Pina, you won’t be disappointed especially if you like pineapple. The Mango juice is perfect and the $10.50 lunch special is very worth the price. The service is great. Can’t wait to come back and try more from the bakery.

Not disappointed at all. I just did to go but can’t wait to dove in because these red beans were on point!

Ordered the Bandeja paisa and Bandeja Montanera. Both were tasty but only issue I had was the freshness of the pork and plantains. Unfortunately it didn’t taste fresh and was reheated. Everything else was great tho. Server was nice and friendly. Nice place with lot’s of pastries and deserts. Overall a nice place for columbian food.

The place is great, you have both bakery and food service options, the bakery is so fresh and tasty I would recommend the buñuelos and the pan de bono without hesitation, there’s plenty of sweets, people is super nice, they speak English and Spanish which is great, the food is good and it’s a good amount of it based on the price.

Terrible. Absolutely terrible.
Was forced to wait over 30min for a soup that should’ve already been made. Only to then have to ask for them to reheat it because it was cold. Only then for the soup to taste like a soup that’s been reheated in the microwave.
Worst Ajiaco in Charlotte.
The pictures posted are of table that were dirty around us. They sat dirty like that for over 15 minutes. Not only that, the table with the two desserts on them were of one of the owners. The guy just sat there and then left them there.
Their only saving grace is there empanadas and ají, those are actually pretty good. Their bakery isn’t bad either.
But the service is super slow. Mauricio is a server with an attitude and he peers over you as you pay to see if you tip or not.
Overall, volverá mi espíritu. Overpriced. The staff needs better training.

Trying Colombian food for the first time. We ordered two different main dishes, both with generous portions. The Arepa Rellena was overall quite salty, and the outer cake, which seemed to be made from rice, was hard and a bit difficult to chew when it cooled down (Google says it’s made from corn). The Bandeja Paisa was excellent, with very crispy pork belly, perfectly cooked half-cooked egg, tasty pork slices, and delicious, sweet, and chewy fried plantains. Highly recommend this dish. In addition to meals, the restaurant also sells a wide variety of desert. The dining environment was clean overall. The staff were very warm and courteous.

I had visited the location recently with my mother-in-law, and it was nice. We had gotten some food to go, which did not take long. The staff was friendly and the inside was clean. The empanadas and breads out of the case were good, but after heating them up for a bit.
