We’ve been by Taj Palace a couple of times now and we will definitely go plenty more! The service is amazing. The staff are always so welcoming and attentive. I’ve only been during the daytime lunch hours. The lunch buffet is simple but great! They have a small salad bar in the middle and the back wall holds the hot dishes. The hot dishes usually include naan, veggie pakoras, mushroom mattar makhni, chicken biryani, butter chicken, spicy chilis with chicken (not as spicy as I expected and really flavorful!), as well as a few others. They offer water at the table, self serve chai tea or mango lassi, and you can order cold canned soda with a cup of ice if you like. The variety is nice and the dishes are fresh. The carrot based dessert is amazing and has a super similar flavor profile to gulab jamun!!

Taj Palace is a wonderful choice for a quick lunch or a dinner date.

I ate here for lunch with coworkers, and it was a really nice experience. The restaurant atmosphere was very cozy, and being that I wasn’t too familiar with Indian food, I was delighted to see all the dishes on the buffet were labeled with details. They offered a hot tea option as well as a cold smoothie like option, which I thought was pretty cool. I tried every item and was not disappointed with anything !!! I’d most definitely recommend trying this restaurant, and I’m very likely to return for a visit. My only complaint would be that I’d wish the food on the buffet was warmed up a bit higher. It wasn’t cold, but nicely lukewarm .

Service is friendly.

The atmosphere is casual but reasonably nice.

The food is pretty good, not the best Indian food I have ever had, but it is still good.

They have a fair selection of your typical Indian dishes. The pakoras are good.

Taj Palace offers an average dining experience. The food was okay, with some dishes standing out more than others. The masala was delicious, but most of the food lacked salt, which affected the overall taste. On the positive side, the Garlic Naan was excellent.

A major downside was the red wine. It seemed improperly stored, with a brownish color and odd flavors. Whether it was a red blend or Cabernet, the taste was indistinguishable, suggesting it might all come from the same box.

The food is fine, but it’s not the best Indian cuisine in Kansas City. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is casual, but I wouldn’t recommend this place for a special occasion. Overall, an average experience.

The best thing about them was they got the order to the right pickup guy. Rice = dry. Naan = flat and oily.

Lamb was decently cooked but lacked on depth.

The tikka masala tasted as if i poured out a can of soup on the few pieces of chicken in the dish and then to forgot to add the spices as well. Terrible.

Would 100% not recommend to anyone looking for Indian in Kansas City area.

Especially at the prices they ask.

Food was great! Had it on a really cold day and it was a really comforting meal. The service was even better!! The waiter was always coming by our table and making sure we had everything we needed. He was so welcoming.

The food was truly delicious, but unfortunately our experience was ruined by the way Sadder ji treated us. As an Indian dining at an Indian restaurant, I never expected to be treated with such disrespect. His behavior was extremely rude, and he showed a lot of unnecessary attitude while we were dining in. We felt ignored and uncomfortable throughout our meal.

To make matters worse, he called us to the billing counter to pay and casually apologized for not serving us properly, while at the same time giving full attention and service to other tables. This made us feel insulted and unfairly treated. Because of his poor behavior and lack of basic courtesy, we chose not to leave a tip. Instead of understanding, he questioned us about why we didn’t tip, which was very embarrassing and highly unprofessional.

Good food alone cannot make up for such disrespectful service. This experience was deeply disappointing and not what I expected from an Indian restaurant.

Staff was friendly, food came out quickly. The garlic naan was fantastic. I had the Lamb Vindallo. Heat was lacking and too sweet for my expectations of a Vindallo. Good enough for me to try something else on the menu. Facility was clean.
