I experienced a rather unsettling incident with my family on Christmas Eve. Approximately two weeks prior, I had placed an order for a fried turkey. I was quite looking forward to trying it. Upon picking up the turkey from the restaurant, my name and order were verified, and it was repeatedly confirmed that I was receiving a fried turkey. The box was presented with smiles, and I was wished “Happy Holidays” with the assurance that it was my fried turkey.
However, upon arriving home and opening the box, I discovered that it was not the fried turkey I had ordered two weeks in advance, but rather a smoked turkey. I contacted the restaurant, and despite an initial disgruntled tone from the employee that answer the call, we were instructed to return the turkey for an exchange due to their error.
Upon returning to the restaurant and presenting the turkey, I observed several employees gathering around it, seemingly discussing a solution, which I presumed would be a straightforward exchange of the smoked turkey for a fried one. An employee then approached the counter and informed me that it would take 5-10 minutes. I didn’t think much of it, assuming they were already frying turkeys and it would be a quick process. I subsequently received my turkey and expressed my thanks and gratitude..
Upon arriving home and opening the package, I discovered that the smoked turkey I had initially received in error appeared to have been subsequently deep-fried and repackaged. I noted this because a wing that I had removed from the initial smoked turkey was absent from the repackaged item, which I had believed to be the fried turkey I ordered. I am concerned that this action may constitute a health code violation, and I intend to investigate this matter further. I find this practice to be both unsanitary and unprofessional, especially given that it stemmed from an error made by the establishment.

I’ve never been dissappinted here, but today was pretty great. Service was incredibly quick, and the food was good as always. The tiger shrimp with shanes sauce is my favorite. If you order the house salad, better bring your appetite! The bowl was bigger than my face and stuffed full of veggies. I gave atmosphere a 4 because they do play Christian music which is not my jam, but its not obscenely loud and can easily be ignored.

Waitress took 25 minutes for a drink, and the place was slow. Only had about a dozen of customers inside. After waiting for a drink, I went and placed my order for food. Ordered the two meat plates with two sides and two pieces of bread. The brisket was dry, bland, and there no seasonings whatsoever. No smoke ring or anything. The rib has a good flavor, and the bone is tender. Good flavor, the fries were seasoned with Tony’s. Way to salty, the potatoe salad is heavy on the mustard side of things and chunky. I ordered the bread to not be toasted and butter. It was. The restroom was filthy, and as much as they charge for food, they could at least replace all the busted broken toilet seats in the women’s bathroom. One toilet wasn’t even screwed down. As far as the atmosphere. They play Christian music for music. Which is a plus.

I’m new to Shreveport and was looking for a great BBQ dive, and I found it at Shane’s! I got the shrimp poboy with fries, the shrimp was cooked to perfection, but the star of the show was the bun… I’ve never had a better poboy bun, it was fresh and crisp and full of flavor.
My wife Tierra had the two meat plate with sausage and ribs, the meats were incredible and I loved the bbq sauce. We will certainly be coming back!

Shrimp is from Ecuador which is pitiful since we’re in Louisiana! Gumbo was good but meat pie didn’t taste like a Natchitoches meat pie. Cheese burger was good. Mardi gras decorations were very nice. But they need to serve GULF shrimp

Last night I really wanted some catfish and decided to visit the Shane’s restaurant on Mansfield road being my daughter was in the hospital across the street at WK. I order a 3 piece basket and paid a little over $15. To my surprise I was given a plate full of fries with 4 very small pieces of thin fish with barely any meat, not to mention everything was cold. I didn’t touch the beans from being so disappointed of what I was given. If you want good quality fish, I recommend Shane’s on North Market. I’ve ordered there several times on lunch and the selection of fish is great!

Shane’s always has great gumbo & seafood! We visited last afternoon & it wasn’t busy. Our waitress, Bug, was very friendly & attentive with every customer in her section. My wife enjoyed her crawfish, $5.99lb. The smoked boudin sausage was delicious!My boiled shrimp was good as well, presented differently as it was boiled with no seasoning & season added after it came out. Store was neat & clean while remodeling the outside.

The waitress was really nice, her name was Tania. We tried the crayfish platter and a catfish dinner. There were mini menus on the table, but the choices for the crayfish platters and sauces were not an option at the time. ( Not sure why they were even on the table). On the crayfish platter, the corn and potatoes were an extra charge. ( another negative). The crayfish were good, a bit hard to get out of their shell. The catfish were a disappointment. They were very small, like a chicken tender, and the fries were covered in some seasoning. Had I known, I would have asked that they not put it on the fries. We won’t be coming back.
