I like Chowder House. The halibut-corn chowder is on point and the turkey bacon swiss sandwich I ordered was delicious. I was there for a late lunch, so I had half of a sandwich that came with chips and a cup of chowder served with crackers. It was the perfect amount to fill me up and I’ve got a pretty decent appetite! I’ve always wanted to try their desserts because they look amazing in the display case but I’ve never had enough room left! The service is adequate and the food comes out pretty quickly. I only wish they’d dress the dining room up a bit. It’s clean and effective, just a little blah. If you’re looking for some fantastic chowder and a great sub or sanwich without any fuss, I’d definitely recommend Chowder House!

the lobster bisque and fried foods were good. The spaghetti, and stuffed haddock were not good at all. The stuffing is from a box. The spaghetti sauce has no spices. The place is not very clean. The bathroom is nasty. The tables aren’t very clean. The floor is stained, dirty and beaten up. Even the walls are splattered with old food. It’s expensive for what it is. I didn’t get clams because they do not shuck their own on premises, they said the clams were never frozen though…. I don’t know how.

I have been seeing such positive remarks about this restaurant for months. We are from Pa and today we got there at 1 PM. Sarah Jo greeted us with a nice smile and welcomed us. This restaurant is absolutely wonderful. Some of best Clam chowder I have ever ate. Shrimp, fish and everything came out hot and was delicious. The 6 of us was very pleased

Many thanks to Sarah Jo for making our first visit here so enjoyable! 6 of us ordered various dishes with delicious results. The lobster bisque was an instant hit. The seafood platters were loaded with delicious offerings. The beer was cold and the tea was refreshing. Definitely recommend the other dishes of shrimp scampi, seafood gumbo and bang bang shrimp appetizer and the grouper plate. Just yummy for our tummies. Definitely recommend this lovely seafood restaurant in Zhills!

We had gone there about 2 years ago, had a bad experience, and decided we’d not go again. But a friend told us about a Pasta special they have on Wednesdays, and said it was good. We went on Wednesday and were told that the chef decided not to run the special that day (even when I showed them a card they published, showing it). But since we were there, we decided to order pasta anyway. I ordered a bowl of clam chowder. Given the name, it should have been outstanding. It wasn’t. It was served lukewarm, and was pretty tasteless. Both my wife’s shrimp scampi and my shrimp carinaria were bland. In both dishes, there weren’t many shrimp, and the noodles were overcooked and “mushy”. With the prices they charge, I’d expect far better. When they served our dinners, we had no silverware. We had to ask the server to get them. No one ever stopped by to check on us. So, our experience – high prices, bad service, mediocre food. This time, we DEFINATELY won’t be going back.

Wasn’t for me . Server was nice and friendly. Went for lobster but they didn’t have any . We got the haddock . i think it had potential for being the tail portion but came out very fast and was pretty cold so i didn’t feel comfortable eating it. The clam chowder wasn’t close to being New england style it had a white gravy texture with no flavor. Florida needs a good NE restaurant but this isn’t it . Hopefully they can take feed back and do some improvements.
