It was our first and probably the last time going here.
Service was just ok. It was difficult placing our orders and we got the wrong food and didn’t get some of the food we ordered. We gave up after many attempts to reorder. Not sure if the server was new or simply didn’t want to be bothered. We ran out of things and never got refills.
The food that we did get was good and fresh. Drinks were weak.

Ordered Felete De Pescado but Pico de gallo and Tomatillo sauce didn’t come first. Asked to bring them and waiter brought them quickly. With those, it was very tasty!

Alberto C. was our server and he was excellent as always. I love it when I get Alberto as my server because he gives you excellent service and is very nice! The chips are always fresh and warm and the food is always delicious and it gets to your table fresh out of the kitchen…it doesn’t get to your table cold or luke warm…unless you order a salad and the salads are fresh and chilled…no wilted lettuce or old tomatoes. Highly recommend Monterrey if you want good Mexican food at a reasonable price.

The food was quite bland and lacked flavor, especially considering the price of $89. I expected better taste from a Mexican restaurant. However, the customer service was good. My drink ran empty a couple of times, but that’s to be expected.

What’s the game I had to endure another horrible restaurant, food was horrible and the fish on the tacos was old fish nothing was fresh.

Rethink the situation if you want to go to this restaurant not worth your time and your stomach will love you.

People do not care about the quality of food they put out and this restaurant falls in that category 100%

We didn’t order drinks because when we got the food we wanted to leave. Just look at the presentation ..

He paid the bill and left

Great food. Friendly service. Lots of seating. We have been here a few times and the service is always great, the food is delicious, and it is always a good time. Patio is nice. Inside seating is great.

Birria tacos are delicious. Corta tacos are yummy. Steak, chicken and shrimp are all.great!

Monterrey Mexican Restaurant is a chain of restaurants primarily located in the southeast, with several metro Atlanta locations. Blending Mexican, regional American, and other Latino cultures as early as the 70s, many of the
area restaurants are some of the first Mexican restaurants to open in Atlanta. All restaurants are known for their fajitas, margaritas, and use of fresh ingredients.

Over the decades, I have regularly frequented the Tucker location. It is one of my go-to spots for celebrating, reconnecting, venting, and exhaling. I’ve laughed, argued, and cried at the eatery’s center long tables and patios.

If you drink, plan on spending hours at either location. Their margaritas and sangritas are not for the once-in-a-blue-moon drinker. Over the years, I’ve developed a sensitivity to triple sec that keeps me from drinking non-craft margaritas. Fortunately, there are other tasty beverages on the menu.

The eatery has lunch specials that carry into the weekend. My go-to order is the fajitas. I also enjoy their enchiladas, chicken tacos, and chimichangas. I can eat a bowl of chips with their amazing salsa and queso dips (I love mine with jalapenos and chorizo, but it depends on the crowd I am with).

#truereview I flip-flop on this one. All is utopia unless you visit between 6 and 8pm. It’s just too busy with full parking lot and waiter to customer ratio not adequate. The waiters are not writing down your order and there is a 90% they are going to forget and/or get it wrong. So, I’ll opt to go between 4 and 6 or after 8pm. On this most recent occasion, the chips were stale. The waiter returned with the same chips, just warmed up. Still stale. Drinks and entree items were missing or messed up altogether. The food was still good, but, only after repeating the order and dismissing the chips.

I’ll try again at a better time of day and revisit this review.

Update: Went to Taco Tuesday and had a great meal for a very reasonable price. All for of us had tacos …. Chicken and beef with hard and soft shells. Margaritas and wine. Service was excellent. Dining area seemed lighter than I remembered last year.
2023-7 Pretty much what we expected. Good, but standard food options and margaritas. Inside and in the outdoor dining areas are standard Mexican fare. Great service. This place can accommodate larger groups and is busy most evenings. It has a bar and private dining area in the back. We had an early dinner that included a large grilled steak nachos supreme and several frozen margaritas.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years, and today I had the rudest and worst service experience. Alberto C. Is basically an order taker. He did not check on our food, and he did not make sure we received everything we ordered. When I asked him Dodd the sauce I had ordered, he just looked at me and walked away. The food was great, but if you go there, ask for Josefina. Avoid Alberto C…
