Located on busy Sycamore Rd. in DeKalb, Illinois, directly across from the Market Square Shopping Center.

Decided to visit this location and was received by a friendly staff, followed by the owner. He recommended a stake. The chef was able to create a great sauce (with ingredients i requested)to a perfectly cooked medium well NY steak. Delish!

We came here for an anniversary dinner and the food was good! I had the chicken with lemon and oregano and my husband had the steak. I felt bad that they were a little understaffed on a Monday night. There was 1 girl handling quite a few tables. We did get a very cute cake presentation for dessert ❤️

Valentine’s Day. First and last time I will come to this place. It was 12:45. The martini took longer to bring to the table than the soup, and I said I wanted to enjoy my drink before the food came out. My shrimp app , which I ordered as my meal, just did not taste good at all. My date liked his food, but was so hungry waiting for it, he had to eat my soup. The people behind us did not get their salad before the meal. It was not crowded at all at that hour. Big disappointment !

Very yum! Great place for special occasions. I went on a date night and had a fantastic time. We shared plates and enjoyed everything – drinks, food, and service. Had the octopus which was on special and was very good. Highly recommend the lamb, it’s exquisite.

I made reservations to dine at Ellwood on Valentines Day. I received a text message that they were not able to accommodate my reservations on the Wednesday before Valentines Day. I responded to the message but never received a reply. On the Thursday before Valentines Day I received an email that my reservations have been canceled. I called the restaurant and spoke with the general manager who said she can have the owener give me a call back. I never received a call back from anyone at the restaurant. I called Sorrento’s and explained what happened and they were able to accommodate my wife and I on Valentines Day just one day beforehand. I had a great time at Sorrento’s and I am very disappointed in how Ellwood handled this whole situation. I would avoid this restaurant at all costs.

New to the area and have eaten at Elmwood several times this winter. We have never been disappointed. The food is great and the staff are friendly while hustling to provide good service. Every time we have been there, we see a manager checking on tables and helping her staff whenever necessary.

First visit here as we were in town to see a show at the Egyptian Theater. There were 4 in our group and everyone raved about their meals. The only negatives were a mediocre shrimp cocktail and that my wife thought there was too much garlic in the mashed potatoes. Everything else was fabulous! Adam was our server and he was just the best. Super attentive to everything without hovering. We were privileged to have him helping us at our table.

It’s sad when your s/o turns to you after one bite and says, “You make this better than they did.” because I’m not a chef or professional cook…. LoL The place is nice. Staff is great until our waitress started bad mouthing her help… I thought her help was great! We’ve never been here before, but I’m not sure if there’s a second chance with the s/o… LoL

I attended a dinner after photographing a couple getting married they chose here for dinner. The atmosphere was so warm and inviting! The tables were neat and clean and the staff was so friendly and funny too! They really work hard here to bring family to your table and make it feel comfy like home 🙂

I finally had a chance to try this steak house. Unfortunately was the last. They had NO oysters and NO sweet potatoes on a Saturday evening! My waitress was kind and polite. We did not feel prioritized though at all. It seems they are in need of more staff. I ordered Parmesan encrusted sea bass unfortunately with minimal crust and fish was slimy a bit. My son ordered half a slab of baby back ribs and they were tiny.
