The food was excellent. Short wait to get in even though there was a line. Great vibe, modern decor. It looks like they have a downstairs. We were able to get their Peking Duck and we were able to get more pancakes. Overall, it was a good experience. We definitely would consider coming back. Just note they do charge an automatic 8% to your bill for a San Francisco service fee.

This restaurant offers excellent Beijing-style cuisine, with the Peking duck being the absolute highlight.
The duck is perfectly roasted, with crispy skin and tender, flavorful meat.
What pleasantly surprised us was their sea cucumber, which was exceptionally well-prepared and delicious.
The flavors were clean, balanced, and true to traditional Beijing cooking.
Each dish showed great attention to detail and quality ingredients.
We would definitely return and highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates authentic Beijing cuisine.

Reservations are recommended. We got seated promptly at our reservation time. The walk in wait list was over an hour.

The star of the show was the Peking duck, which had nice crispy skin texture and a light taste. But it needed a bit more seasoning. The pancake wrap along with the accoutrements overpowered the duck. I could only taste how good the duck is when eating it by itself. The second best dish was the sichuan cold meats, which had tender meat and aromatic spicy oil.

The rest of the dishes we tried were just average. Soup dumpling’s skin was too thick. The golden shrimp was fried perfectly, but too sweet. Eggplant dish was also too sweet. Beef roll came with no sauce and tasteless. Sea bass seemed slightly overcooked and did not have its characteristic savoriness.

We also ordered the taro swan pasties at the beginning of our meal, but the staff said we had to wait an additional 25 minutes after our last dish, so we declined.

Overall, looking at how busy the restaurant gets compared to the food, this restaurant isn’t worth the hassle

We had an excellent meal at Z&Y Peking Duck! The miso sea bass was incredibly tender with great flavor, and the fried Dungeness crab had a perfect crunch with bold seasoning. The Peking duck was delicious, and even the green beans were a solid side. Everything we tried was well-executed and flavorful. Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality Chinese cuisine with standout seafood dishes.

S/o to AiDa for great service too!

Absolutely delicious!

I came here for the Beijing Roast Duck and ended up falling in love with everything on the menu. You can really taste the chef’s care and skill in every dish — from the flavor, color, and aroma, everything feels beautifully balanced and thoughtfully prepared.

The tea service here is also amazing — their Kung Fu tea is smooth, fragrant, and served with such attention to detail. It really completes the whole dining experience.

The restaurant has a relaxing, elegant atmosphere, and it’s quite popular with locals and Americans alike. Whether you’re a fan of authentic Chinese food or trying roast duck for the first time, this place is a must-visit!

Restaurant didn’t allow reservations for less than 4pax so hubby and I decided we shall be there 30 mins before opening time and we were number 2 in the Q and by opening time there were 20 pax behind us.

Once we were seated, we were served quickly. We ordered avocado, Peking duck and grilled lamb.

Avocado was flavourful with sesame oil and I guess soya sauce. Love the Peking duck which didn’t have subcutaneous fat (unlike those we had in Beijing and Malaysia). The tofu soup with cabbage was nice, unsalted. Grilled lamb was good too, tender and not gamey, but we’ll like it more grilled. I think there’s no msg and yet food is great, something for Singapore/Malaysian Chinese chefs to think about….

Wish there were more in our party so we can order more food, everything looked good!

We had to fight for our dinner like it was a Thanksgiving episode of The Amazing Race. First stop? The wrong restaurant — because my husband typed in the wrong address. But husbands are sacred creatures, and I try not to commit crimes on holidays.

Thankfully, there was no traffic, so we zoomed to the next location… which also turned out to be wrong. The real place was literally across the street. At that point, I was ready to eat anything — even my husband’s phone.

We made our reservation almost a month in advance, and still ended up waiting 40 minutes. But honestly? It was worth every minute. The food was amazing, and the Peking duck? Pure perfection. A duck so good it could bring peace to families who almost argued over GPS directions.

The service was also excellent — they kept checking on us like we were VIPs (or like they could sense the chaos we survived to get there).

I’d absolutely come back… hopefully next time without a city-wide scavenger hunt. ✨

We came for the duck (shock!) and it did not disappoint. The skin was crispy and the meat perfectly cooked, succulent and juicy. The seasonings and bread bun enhanced the overall experience. Although not the best we ever tried, the honey walnut shrimp was also delicious and was plated exquisitely. For these two dishes, we paid approximately $100, including tax.

On the down side, although we ordered this restaurant’s supposedly main dish, our table waited an inordinate amount of time for it to come out. Additionally we noticed a neighboring table arriving 20 minutes later but receiving food 20 minutes earlier than us and we were all given checks at the same time (we did not request staff for checks, so it seemed as if they were rushing us).

Lastly, we noticed wait staff staring at and observing customers much too frequently that it borderline felt uncomfortable.

Top tier Peking duck – beats Palette and Taste Good Beijing and has a deeper roasted flavor.

The fish was good, but the XLB was just average.

Overall worth a visit for the duck alone! Do come early and reserve it in advance since there can be quite a lot of people waiting

The food was flavourful and the texture was just right. We ordered the Peking duck and soy chicken. Our kids loved the chicken with a side of steamed rice. The chef enjoys strong flavours and skillfully cut the chicken like butter in front of our table. The atmosphere is casual with an Asian-fusion trendy vibe.
