We are a Family-Owned Ice Cream Shop and Snack Bar! We specialize in Homemade ice cream, popsicles, and Mexican-inspired treats! Find any sweet or savory snack you could imagine including Mexican street food classics like Elotes or fresh sweets like Crepes and so many more!! Not to mention our handmade Authentic Mexican Food!!! Where does the name Axohelado come from? We used the Axolotl and Helado ( e-la doh, Spanish for ice-cream) as an inspiration to name this place. Get it? Axo-Helado What is an axolotl? As legend has it, the axolotl is the Aztec god of fire and lightning, Xolotl, who disguised himself as a salamander to avoid being sacrificed. Today Axolotls are only native to the Lake Xochimilco located in Mexico City.

Im not one to share reviews to often however this place deserves a 5 star. Would be 10 if I had that option. We ordered the Birria Obsession tacos and I have to say the VERY BEST anywhere in this area. The tacos the poppers the rice absolutely everything was phenomenal. Not only that but the service….so friendly. You can tell when people take pride and enjoy what they do and this place shows. Going to be our new place when we feel like tacos. And I dont care how fat we get…. haters go ahead n hate. Seriously though give it a try. You wont regret it. Ps. Very reasonable in price. For the servings you get.

is a hole in the wall, knowing this, why are you not on your way to get some food? Delicious food and great service. there is a machine you can order from but take the time to meet Angeles. she is sweet and will take care of you with the smile.

We are very familiar with this type of ice cream shop, especially coming from LA. We find it hard to compare sometimes our standards for how things should be versus how they are in Northern Nevada. This Michoacán style of treats was a pleasant surprise. But what put it over the top for us is the hospitality and great customer service you get from the moment you walk through the door. They are very attentive and willing to assist you in samples and any questions you have to get what you are craving. We will definitely be back and recommend it to our friends. Gracias!

I found this gem of a place randomly. Axohelado is an authentic Mexican homemade ice cream shop…where have you been all my life??
I saw that they sell other things but I only tried the popsicles and the ice cream. I would like to mention that the staff is so friendly and accommodating, they explained all the various flavors thoroughly and happily provided tastings. I ended up buying a stack of the homemade popsicles and some of the ice cream. I’m telling you it is to die for!!! Each and every flavor has a pop. I am so hard to please with ice cream, but all of these flavors I tried really pack a delicious punch… Gancito (This was described to me as a Mexican Twinkie- I’ve been missing out my whole life!!), passion fruit, and key lime are also extraordinary!! If I could try all of the flavors I would and they would all probably be fantastic.
Bonus they make these adorable keychains in house!! I had to buy a few (photos in the review).
I couldn’t help but notice that this place is also very cleanly, It looks like there are some pride in the ownership …. I hope this place thrives!!!

Amazing desserts!
Probably the best in North Eastern Nevada. After having some of their in-house made ice cream, I was haunted by it’s memory for the next week.

Seriously, SO DELICIOUS. Ice cream is clearly made here, popsicles, and all the delicious Mexican snacks you can really only find in Mexico. Hasta la birria y su consomé está delicioso. Wow. New favorite place.
