A must stop if you are driving through!! I got the Mountain Mama with the chimmichuri sauce and the Pecan Pie one for dessert!! Building is cute, atmosphere is good and pies ARE DELICIOUS!!!

On a recent road trip passing through Strawberry, I decided to stop and try an empanada at the Piebar with the question: Are they really that good? There were plenty of people stopping as well. I was glad to see a pleasant area to stop and eat and bathrooms for customers to use as well. And- they really are all good! The crust was perfect for the pie, the filling was fresh tasting. They were even good the next day! Prices were very fair and a broad assortment of sweet and savory fillings, along with available dipping sauces.

When I die and go to Heaven, I’m really hoping there is a PIEbar there! We had 6 ‘pies’, 3 savory and 3 sweet. Every bite was amazing. The pies were stuffed full of yumminess. I’ll not sure if I’m thankful that I live states away from this spot, to save some calories, but I do know that I’ll be back! Strawberry, AZ is truly charming and this PIEbar is the star

Great place to visit and try empanadas in strawberry. Everything is fresh and you can enjoy it in the outside seating area available or take it to go. Lots of options if you want savory, or a sweet dessert. We had a few the Mountain man, philly, mountain baby,buffalo, bananas fosters, pumpkin. Also vegetarian options available. The have coffee, soft drinks, some beer, cocktails. If you’re visiting Payson drive up ….so worth it!

I had heard about this place before and as I began visiting and passing through Payson and Strawberry more often, I knew I just had to try it. Safe to say, I was not disappointed! My first empanadas were the mountain mama and the strawberry and cream and they were just delicious! The mountain mama was so flavorful and savory and the strawberries and cream was just perfect – not horrendously sweet like most empanadas ive had down in Phoenix, didnt taste like artificial strawberry flavoring either. Both pies were cooked to perfection, even with a little crisp, and they were full of filling! Loved it! Also for a tourist attraction-type of eatery, they are well priced and affordable. Every time I pass through Strawberry, the PieBAR is a must on my trip!
My dogs also love the attention they get every time. They also had adorable bandanas that matched my dogs’ gear and I just had to buy them! My only suggestion would be maybe have little doggy treats or doggy pies

I thought it was pretty good. I got the mountain man and I thought it would be more like a breakfast sausage gravy but it was a brown/tomato base with a kick. I also got the ham and cheese which I lover. The pie crust is not really flaky but it’s very soft which is nice. I’d definitely eat here again

If I had this in Scottsdale, my fiance and I would live there. The service, the uniqueness of the empanadas, the quality, the flavors. We go to Strawberry, Az. a lot. If you don’t hit this place, you’re lost. I spent over $70 to bring people empanadas back in Scottsdale. It’s that good.

Oh Dang!!! PIEbar was AMAZING!! I have never had better empanadas anywhere! The massive selection and various options made it so hard to decide which to get so we all ended up getting a bunch to take with us. We heard about PIEbar and drove from Overgaard to check it out. TOTALLY worth the drive! I wish I could recommend “the best” one, but the ones we got were all so good I honestly can’t say what was my favorite. We didn’t even get through a quarter of the selections…. Guess we’ll just have to keep going back.
All in all, highly recommend! Great food, atmosphere, the service was excellent and staff were so polite, friendly, and quick! We totally have a new destination when coming down the mountain!

We love these off the beaten path, quick bite to eat kind of a places. What a gem!! We tried quite a few of the pies, and all were a bite of incredible flavorful, baked goodness. Save room for dessert…the apple dulce de leche pie is omg delish. Do not hesitate to stop here after a hike, hits the spot!.
