Mexican bites with local ingredients, plus coffee, wines, and mezcals.

Very disappointing. I was a huge fan, long time since last time I came for brunch. I tried again and it was a terrible experience. We ordered margaritas to start, and these were tequila, lime and ice. I am sure you can make your own much better. We also ordered guacamole to start and it was spicy but no salt, so do not even try. As mains, I got the gringa which was huge, greasy and not very tasty. Very little cheese and no flavor. My wife got the fried chicken breast, which was deeply fried, soaking grease and unsalted. Finally, to try to get by, we got micheladas, which were acceptable but not great. Try a less trendy/ brand name and support smaller Mexican spots which would give you a much better experience. For completeness, we paid $146 :/

I really wanted to like this place but it just didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The flavors were a bit bland, and some dishes felt like they were missing that special touch. I had high hopes based on the reviews, but it seems like the hype didn’t translate into the actual experience. The ambiance is nice, and the staff was attentive, but when it comes to the food, I was left wanting more. The prices are so expensive almost $30 for 2 pieces of tacos. We ordered guacamole as well the chips are stale and oily. I hope the management look into it and considering their market prices.

Loved it. Dropped in for Sunday lunch after Bethel Noho service.
Tostada del mar – super fresh mackerel with a bite. Then pork. Classic margarita.
Restaurant is light and airy.
Do try Bethel NYC. You can’t help but be changed.

Delicious Mexican spot, loved the pork Al pastor and all the sauces it was absolutely delicious, all the ingredients were fresh and the service was amazing!
Even with all the tortillas and the generous portions, we (a table of 4) felt full (but not heavy and stuffed) after the meal.
HIGHLY recommend

Came in to kill some time and get a bite to eat. I didn’t have any expectations but WOW, what I thought would be a basic burrito was really flavorful and perfect. I added avo, but there was also a side sauce (wish I knew what it was!) and the combination was just delicious. I ended up getting the churros with dulce de leche – also amazing and just the right portions (you can order 2 or 4, I ordered 2). I wanted to take the dulce home but I figured I was being ridiculous… The afternoon service was perfect – just a few customers, no wait, and friendly staff. The place was clean and the tequila selection looked interesting. I’ll have to try a cocktail next time. Can’t wait to come back

One unacceptable and unethical mistake in the professional restaurant industry can turn a five-star experience into a one-star review, even for a Michelin-guided restaurant.
The food and drinks were delicious, the service from Omar was excellent, and the overall dining atmosphere was enjoyable.
We ordered guacamole, mackerel aguachile, beef & onion tacos (the onions were barely noticeable), and fried fish steak (which was dry). The appetizers were flavorful and leaned toward the sour side. However, the tacos and fish fell short of our expectations.
The spicy margarita and skin-contact wine selection were particularly refreshing.
Our server, Omar, was patient, friendly, and professional, answering all my questions with care.
However, while sitting at the bar, I witnessed another server, Many, using the same straw to taste two different cocktails before serving them to customers. He pressed one side of the straw with his finger, lifted it, drank from the other end, and then used the same straw to taste another drink. I immediately informed my server when Many brought the drinks to the customers. Omar later returned to tell me that Many claimed he had flipped the straw to the other side.
To me, whether he flipped it or not, using the same straw on two different drinks is unethical in the restaurant industry. Moreover, he had been drinking himself, which raised concerns about his judgment. Both my friend and I also did not recall seeing him flip the straw.
For the next half hour, he walked past me multiple times but avoided eye contact, further reinforcing my belief that he knew he had acted improperly.
After Omar spoke to the manager, she came to talk to us. However, instead of being honest and addressing the issue directly with the customers who drank the cocktails, they simply offered us a dessert. This felt more like an attempt to dissuade us from writing a review rather than a genuine effort to resolve the situation.

We came for an early dinner, and the place was already busy, but in a good way. We ordered three dishes to share, which were enough for us. The waitress was very nice and recommended a delicious vegetarian dish with mushrooms. I was actually very impressed. The food was spicy, which I love. I will definitely come back!

Atla in NoHo is a breath of fresh air in the NYC dining scene, offering a refined yet approachable take on modern Mexican cuisine. The space is minimalist and stylish, with lots of natural light and a laid-back, upscale vibe that feels perfect for anything from brunch with friends to a low-key date night.
The food is where Atla truly shines. Dishes like the guacamole with pistachios and the corn esquites are thoughtful and flavorful, offering just enough of a twist to feel inventive without being gimmicky. The fish tacos are a must-order—light, crispy, and packed with fresh flavor. Cocktails are equally strong, especially the mezcal-based options, and the agua frescas are a refreshing non-alcoholic choice.
Service is attentive but relaxed, in line with the overall atmosphere. Prices are a bit high for casual fare, but the quality of ingredients and the execution justify the cost for the most part.
If you’re looking for a modern, polished take on Mexican food in a chill yet chic environment, Atla is well worth a visit.

Overpriced and underwhelming, but this is one persons opinion. We ordered drinks and guacamole. The spicy margarita was spicy, but for $20+ is crazy and the chips for the guacamole lacked salt, so they were not a good compliment to the OK guacamole. It’s not a bad place to bring a date, but there was nothing special about this Mexican food spot. Judge for yourself.
