We are the Smiths. We have been in the restaurant business since 1962. Our first ventures were good old fashioned Drive-Ins. We have also owned and operated casual dining and steak house restaurants. My parents, Mike and Janet, raised me in the business. My wife Rita and I have operated TJ’s since we opened in June of 1982. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Such a very sweet deli and grill. They have salads sandwiches, fries, burgers, chicken fingers – all the family favorites. You can even get GF bread. And the homemade ice cream is delicious – with classic flavors (cookies and cream, vanilla, choco, etc) and fun ones of their own – like lemon cheesecake and baklava. Very reasonable prices and large kids meals.

Food was good – kudos for making my burger medium – most restaurants cook them past well done, so much appreciated. Gluten Free option good for my wife.
The not so good – bathroom out of order. One soda machine out of order. Customers clean their own table prior to eating – it was busy and cleanliness was clearly not the priority. Hot chips cannot be a side, have to order separate as an appetizer???? Not aware of any restaurant anywhere else that does this – scratching my head.
I think most people would be satisfied with the food/service, so would not discourage someone from eating there. It’s their restaurant and it’s obviously successful, they can make all the weird rules they want, just too many quirks/extras for us to make it a regular place. Again, the food is good but definitely advise avoiding busy times if you are a neat freak.

First time at TJs Deli. Got Ham & Cheese on Rye, my sandwich was really good. The American cheese melted was a great touch. The potato salad is loaded with onions, more than my liking, I probably would order a different side next time.
The lady at the register, I don’t know if she was having a bad day or just overwhelmed but not friendly and very impatient with me. It was like she was on attack the whole transaction. I probably wouldn’t go back because the service from her. There are plenty of other places that can treat people nicer and I’d rather spend my hard earned dollars elsewhere.

First of all the person taking your order needs to open his mouth and tell you that hot chips as a side is extra. Number 2 he also needs to listen when placing an order had to go back to order a sandwich. First and last time here. Not worth the $80 I spent to take my family out for lunch. Chips were ice cold. Didn’t give me everything I ordered and when I mentioned it was looked at like I was dumb. So so sad

The Reuben sandwich we got was the best we’ve ever had.
The corned beef was juicy, the kraut was flavorful, and both the fries and sandwich were piping hot.
The pickle was cold, crisp, and awesome, as well.
The entire meal was phenomenal!

Foods awesome but they charge you 3.70 for a side of fries if you want to remove this and just get a sandwhich its 75 cent off the meal? So you value elite 3.75 selling a single fry but its .75 cent off for me. Hmmm

The big problem with TJ’s Deli is that it is not on every street corner. The food is so fresh and delicious. The staff are always nice and helpful. They have the best sandwich (Cham) and the best ice cream in the state. I’m addicted to TJ’s!
