I wish I could give more than 5 stars!! I decided to stop in this morning for breakfast at about 10 am. and it was pretty well packed. I sat at the counter since I was alone and preferred to get seated instead of waiting 5 minutes for a table. I was immediately greeted with a smile and very prompt service. I must have interacted with at least 6 or more of the staff this morning, and all of them were very pleasant and all had a smile on their face. I bet it took less than 5 minutes from the time I placed my order for the Bacon Avocado omelette, with hash browns and pancakes. The omelette was very tasty, and the hash browns cooked the way I asked for them. I was very pleased with the pancakes, very fluffy and delicious. The coffee was also very good. Before I left I spoke with the owner and let her know how pleased I was with my meal and the service. If you are any where close to this diner, you must stop in and give them a try. I know I will be back. This is one of my top diner’s I have ever tried, and I’ve tried quite a few. Thank you Vegas Cafe foe a great start to my morning.

Wonderful lunch special included a bowl of their homemade soup ( several to choose from) a turkey reuben, fries and a drink for $13.99. The turkey Reuben had big slices of turkey, not thin deli slices. Just the right amount of sauerkraut and a small bowl of thousand Island dressing on the side. The soups were good though a little salty we had the zesty taco and the lentil. Service was great and the atmosphere is nice and lively.

Absolutely charming place! Our waitress was quick and friendly, and gosh the food is delightful! I got the turkey tomato focaccia sandwich, and it was amazing! I also got the chicken dumpling soup, which had great flavor. Highly recommend as a snack place or a wonderful place for food and conversation.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Yesterday I lunched with clients at The Vegas Café in Antioch; it had been some time since my previous visit.
We arrived just as the luncheon hour was in full swing; however, the waitstaff seated us after only a few minutes and we were shown to a booth in the main dining room.
The atmosphere is very lively and chatty; the restaurant appeared to be quite full but there was a wonderful ‘warmth’ about the place and the cooking smelled terrific.
Our waitress brought menus immediately and took our drink orders; she was polite, courteous, and efficient.
It was very clear our waitress was very busy; HOWEVER this did not in any way diminish her service and/or her attention.
SHE WAS TERRIFIC.
Our orders arrived VERY quickly and were hot and fresh; I ordered a chorizo skillet and it was delicious.
The rye toast was loaded with butter and they brought freshly portioned fruit jelly for us, and not those horrible pr-packaged plastic globs.
The waitress kept my coffee filled and my clients’ drinks filled as well; she took very good care of us and never once made us feel rushed.
I thoroughly enjoyed my luncheon at The Vegas Café and will definitely plan to return, very soon!

This place is super cute and has incredibly large portions. Great American diner. The thrift store next door is super nice to go to with a full stomach afterwards. I recommend the skillets and the eggs Benedict. Don’t forget to douse your potatoes in Cholula.

My family spent the morning at the Wilmot tube park and was looking for a good place to grab lunch. We were blown away by the Vega’s Cafe! Fun and interesting decor, super attentive (and fast) waitresses, and the FOOD! We loved our food! Such a gem, and we’re making a note to come back again soon.

This was our first time here and WOW. What an experience at The Vegas Cafe in Antioch, Illinois. The food and drinks were excellent. We had the stuffed French toast, a skillet, pancakes, strawberry waffles, and a breakfast wrap. For drinks, we ordered hot chocolate and iced tea and everything was delicious.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff is truly amazing. From the hostesses to our server to the bussers, everyone was hardworking, kind, and genuinely caring. You could feel it right when you walked in. They wanted you there and treated you so well.
Then there is the owner, Helen. She is an absolute gem. She introduced herself and spent time talking with us about her family, the business, and getting to know us. Even before she mentioned she was the owner, you could tell by the way she carried herself and interacted with guests. She clearly cares about her staff and her customers.
When Helen found out we were there celebrating my mother’s birthday, she went above and beyond. My mom is still talking about it. We are so thankful to our server Callie, the owner Helen, and everyone at The Vegas Cafe.
Thank you all for such a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back.
