Upon pulling up to LazyG, my mom and dad remembered they had already been there a couple years back with my aunt and uncle, so we decided to try a different place. I had suggested Bill’s Grill due to it being a burger place that didn’t have $20+ burgers on the menu.
First note, they had a few other people in there, but like I said earlier, it was around 3 PM on a Saturday in August. It wasn’t peak time so we were able to pull into a parking spot in their parking lot super easily. We were able to seat ourselves and our server checked in on us quickly. My mom and I weren’t hungry as we wanted to get ice cream for dinner at a different place, but my dad was really hungry. Me and her got the basket of sweet potato fries and split those, while my dad got the special that was written on the board you see when you first walk in: the Philly Cheesesteak. With an addition of fries on the side that were extra ($3 – that’s how they can get away with only charging $12 for a burger).
The food came out rather quickly. Our sweet potato fries were hot, crispy, and with just the right amount of salt. I quite enjoyed them. My dad’s Philly Cheesesteak and fries weren’t anything special though. His fries, I thought, had almost no flavor and were too crunchy for my liking. But my parents didn’t find anything wrong with them and actually gave them praise, so. The sandwich, however, was where the meal fell short. It doesn’t take much to impress my dad and even he gave it 3 stars out of 5. It was mostly bread and peppers. The chipotle sauce wasn’t too chipotle and didn’t pack enough punch. There was also not much meat for a Philly Cheesesteak. The long slices of pepper were the main stars of the show as you can see in the picture. He also wished there was more cheese.
Maybe their burgers are better, but the meal wasn’t anything worth remembering for us. Also, NO AC. It was fine when we went in there, but after walking around the downtown, it would’ve been nice to sit in some AC for a couple of minutes.
My friend highly recommended trying their fish n chips and I am SO glad he did. (He knew I tasted every fish n chips wherever went and am very picky)
I will now be choosing Bill’s Grill as my go to for ANY special occasions my husband and I have! I will also be sending all my kiwi mates here too!
WooooHoooo!!!! Thank you!!!
Courtney was a great hostess as well.
Fresh off a lake day (and a recent emotional shipwreck courtesy of Beau), I made my way to Bill’s Grill in Prescott, where the dress code was casual enough for someone still air-drying from paddleboarding and just unhinged enough to welcome someone still emotionally damp from crying in the car. Honestly? My kind of place.
The moment I sat down, I knew I was in a safe space. The staff was friendly and fast, which is ideal when you’re one minor inconvenience away from unraveling and need sweet potato fries to stabilize your mood. Speaking of, which I ordered with a side of “the good ranch”. You know the kind: chilled, creamy, definitely not the sad watery stuff in a packet. This ranch understood me better than Beau ever did.
And the burger? A masterpiece. A glorious, messy, delicious monument to emotional resilience. Each bite felt like reclaiming a little piece of my dignity. By the time I hit the halfway mark, I was already making peace with my breakup and planning a long-term relationship, with this menu.
The vibe was chill, the food was top-tier, and for once, nobody asked me how I was doing emotionally (thank God). Just burgers, friends, and the satisfying crunch of sweet potato fries reminding me that happiness is real and occasionally deep-fried.
10/10 will absolutely be back. Because healing is hard, but a burger at Bill’s Grill makes it a hell of a lot easier. And honestly, if Beau had taken me here, we might still be together. His loss. My fries.
Positive aspects:
1. Good balance between quality and affordability.
2. Welcoming atmosphere with friendly, attentive service.
3. As first-time visitors to Prescott, we were pleasantly surprised to find seating available without a reservation.
Areas for improvement:
1. It would be nice to see the menu expanded to include some soup options.
2. The restaurant seems to be more popular with locals, which could mean it’s a hidden gem for visitors.
