We come here like at least 3 times a month. This is exactly what Mexican family style is supposed to be like — friendly, happy and delicious. Happy Hour in here is unrivaled, and you have your choice to sit in the pub side or the restaurant side. (Both are great for different vibes!) …Also the homemade secret salsas are so good I could drink them — nice kick, not afraid to be full spice and flavor with the habeñero one . Get the steak fajitas, the mole, or the chili verde. Also the tamales oh my gooooooooodness the tamales — I like the pork and chicken 🙂 can’t beat that masa so flavorful — they know what they are doing. Authentic as ever. Vibe of cocktails is classic celebration, goblets of endless refreshments — think “well bar favorites” yet elevated and unique. And they have a surprisingly k!ller Long Island Iced Tea! Highly recommend — I’ve been living in Seattle for 15 years now and these are still my go to fajitas!! ️

Split the whole rotisserie chicken with sides and it was excellent, a deeply flavorful skin with tender meat, all for $20 (total). Plus, $12 classic margaritas which were fantastic. Chill vibes, nice people, lots of regulars. I’ll definitely be back.

One of my favorite places in Seattle. Our family often celebrates year after year here. The staff is phenomenal. The food is superb and this is just like having mama serve you! Nothing but big raves here from me! Miss you guys, you’re definitely loves, and a part of the family!

Hay perfecto… Such a great small restaurant on the main Ave Broadway on Capitol Hill and I stopped in on a whim because it looks so incredibly cute. The food lived up to the appearance of the restaurant and I had the roasted chicken upon recommendation and a margarita that was absolutely to die for. Loved this place and I will definitely be back

The vibes are great in the summer when it’s open air. Unfortunately my tamales were kind of dry and bland (pork and beef) except for the mole sauce which I got on the side, which wasn’t the greatest. I was craving some “queso” dip which was not what I expected (traditionally I was expecting a runny dip), instead we got a broiled melted cheese plate, but it was a good surprise and the best item we got. The chips and salsa that came complimentary was also good.

We visited La Cocina & Cantina Santiago on a very rainy early December afternoon. Everything about this restaurant was excellent. The “must” order is any tamale dish. The tamales are homemade by Senora Santiago! (She used to be my neighbor.) The tamales are exquisite. (Well, all the food is great.) The atmosphere perfect and we were glad to see that the Cocina has been expanded to include a delightful Cantina. Amazing service by owner Victor’s sisters — Norma and Mona(?). Great prices. Large portions. Take the bus or park a little north in the neighborhood.

I accidentally found myself at La Cocina & Cantina while heading to another spot—but the vibrant vibe and inviting decor pulled me in.
The vegetarian options are quite limited, so I went with the chile rellenos. For $22, the portion size was generous and came with flavorful sides of rice and beans. While it wasn’t the best chile relleno I’ve ever had, it definitely hit the spot.
The place has a chill, laid-back atmosphere—exactly what you’d hope for in a lively Mexican joint.
Worth a visit? Definitely! It’s a great spot to catch up with friends.
Cost? Pretty pocket-friendly for what you get.
Oh, and don’t miss the complimentary chips with two types of salsa—both were a hit!

Tried out La Cocina after returning some items at the Fed Ex nearby. Overall it was a meal of notable ups and downs, resulting in the 3/5 stars. The restaurant is decorated well with tons of seating. Chips and salsa were solid as well. My margarita was unfortunately quite weak and the lime on the rim visibly brown and not fit to serve. Similarly my quesadilla and burrito combo platter was okay at best, as they were legitimately the wettest Mexican food I’ve ever received. My wife’s nachos and tamale on the other hand were quite tasty. Probably wouldn’t try again unless I had a specific thirst for more tamales.

Absolutely delicious and fast! We got our food in under 5 minutes piping hot. The meats are perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection. The sauces (tried the green and red sauce) were not very spicy and their home-made hot sauce was ridiculously good. Don’t miss out on their hot sauce! The beer off draft is super fresh and everyone working was extremely kind and inviting. Cannot wait to have many more meals at that local gem.

Love it! Super friendly staff and range of options. Has great options during happy hour, margarita was refreshing with a bit of lime in mix. Chicken fajitas so fresh and filling, my friends enjoyed their orders of enchiladas and taquitos.
Definitely want to go back and try more of the different options. A new favorite Mexican place in Seattle – great quality food at good price!
