I had breakfast at Herb N’ Kitchen at the New York Hilton Midtown on a weekday and was pleasantly surprised. The buffet is $44.99, which is pricey, but this is Manhattan. I found the restaurant to be worth the money—especially given the quality, selection, and atmosphere. If you are on a budget and you are a Hilton gold or diamond guest, you can go to the Executive Lounge and get a free continental breakfast. However, if you have money to spare or a free certificate, consider this place.

The buffet offers a variety of options, including an omelet station, waffles, pancakes, sausages, bacon, potatoes, yogurts, bagels, muffins, cereal, cheeses, fresh fruits, cold cuts, pastries, toast, assorted flavored milk, and oatmeal. Coffee, tea, and juice are included, which adds to the value.

You can also get your own fruit juices via the dispensers. The food was fresh, well-prepared, and plentiful.

What made my experience even better was the fantastic service. My server was attentive and friendly, ensuring my coffee cup was always full. Since I had a birthday voucher, my meal was covered, but even without it, I would still recommend this spot for a relaxing, high-quality breakfast in Midtown.

The restaurant was quiet and spacious, and I practically had the place to myself, which made for a peaceful and enjoyable start to the day. If you’re staying at the Hilton or in the area and looking for a delicious, leisurely breakfast, this is a great option! This restaurant closes at 11 AM, so try to get there by 9 AM. You can also go to the 24 hour convenience store of the same name.

The Vibe:
Be prepared: this hotel operates on a massive scale. Because of its prime business hotel location and size, the lobby and common areas are constantly crowded. It feels less like a relaxing hotel and more like a busy transit hub.
The Crowd:
If you are looking for a quiet, intimate boutique experience, this is not it. There are so many people at all hours—from conference attendees to tourists—which can make elevators and check-in lines feel chaotic.
The Verdict:
It serves its purpose well if you need to be in the center of Midtown for business, but just know that you are trading tranquility for a very busy, high-traffic environment.

Food was bland and barely palatable. Chicken sausage nearly made my wife gag, the bacon wasn’t somehow crispy and undercooked, the eggs were rubbery and the pancakes were thick and dense. Coffee was so bitter and burnt even after adding a 1/4 cup of cream and what my wife judgingly looked at me as “too many” sugar packets, I still couldn’t bring myself to drink it. The limited staff they have are so focused on turning tables to disappoint other people that they don’t take any care of the ones seated already. We were talking about to twice, when we were seated, and when I received the insane $116 check.

Snacks. Gluten-free options. Expensive.

I stopped here to get coffee for my wife who was getting ready in the room. Service is slow but steady. There are a few tables nearby, if you want to eat there.

Two espresso drinks, 2 small waters and a chocolate croissant were $33.

On the upside, they carry Schar and several other gluten-free providers. It’s nice that I can get some gluten-free shortbread cookies in the lobby.

Many people were walking outside to get their coffee and pastry craving satisfied.

The Hilton Stack Mac burger was delicious and the Caesar salad had no complaints. Room service quickly brought the food to the room. The service in the store was really rude and slow. The prices are really expensive compared to the level of service. We didn’t come here again for shopping during the entire week.

Ride staff and the restaurant manager is totally incompetent. Food was subpar as the syrup and eggs are so thick. It felt as if the chef had purchased low quality ingredients

Having traveled the world and staying in countless hotels, we’ve seen some bad hotel markets. This is not one of them. Yeah, it’s busy and could have more, but it’s a good one. It sells hot foods like pizza and burgers. It has lots of drinks, including a good strawberry daiquiri bottle. There’s specialty chocolate, hummus, yogurt, and more!

I know Manhattan is pricey, but at the least the food should be good. My son said muffins tasted super old. The only thing that made this experience good was the cashier, she was extremely helpful and had patience with our party. Thank You señora Olga c.

Was very expensive. Food was not very tasty.
Two sandwiches, two orange juices and one small fruit cup with $70 this is outrageous. Do not recommend.

$116 for a subpar breakfast buffet. Automatic 15% service fee. Outrageously expensive. Laughable, really.
