I had not been to a McAlister’s in several years and decided to try this one in Myrtle Beach, after walking at Market Commons for exercise.
I had the Club sandwich minus mayonnaise with chips, TWO pickles, and a Brookie. The food was excellent, the staff were very friendly and attentive, ensuring I had what I wanted while checking in periodically. I will definitely be back!

We like that the food is consistent at McAlister’s Delis across the country. Quick service and clean dining room at this location. The woman’s bathroom was acceptable here, but not the cleanest I’ve been in.

Staff need better training on professionalism and how to speak to guests. The two girls working the front counter today Thursday Dec 18th at 7:20pm were incredibly rude and unprofessional. I am still in shock. I walked in during my meal break to order the bbq chicken flatbread (I ordered this last summer in ‘24 and it was delicious) and when I walked in to place my order I didn’t see it on the menu so I asked about it. Even prior to this, I noticed that right when I began looking up at the menu (no one at all was in line) the girl began looking me up and down and immediately rushing me which was very off putting. The restaurant was not busy at all, so I found this pretty rude. When I asked her if they had the bbq chicken flatbread she replied in a rude, sarcastic tone, “Uh, we’ve NEVER had that.” I then said, “No I’ve had it here last summer in 2024” and she then said “If we did have it, we haven’t had it in several YEARS.” Then another girl walked up front and said, “You sure you’re not thinking of Panera?” (in a condescending tone)
At this point I was like ok, these girls are trying to make me sound crazy and this is bizarre that they wouldn’t even do their research before being so quick to judge me and talk down to me because I definitely know that I dined at a Myrtle Beach SC McAlister’s in summer of 2024 and ordered this item. I just did not understand all of the rushing when the restaurant was not even busy and it’s not as though I was even standing there long at all. They were incredibly rude. The “Are you sure you’re not thinking of Panera Bread” was said in such a condescending and rude tone. And the “Uh, we’ve NEVER had that item” was incredibly rude— the tone of voice that she used with me and also how incorrect she was. (She later changed her tune once I pulled it up on my phone because of how crazy they were both making me feel. She later said “We haven’t had it in several years” after stating “we have NEVER had that item” and even after she changed her tune she was still very incorrect because it has not been 3 years…they had it in July of 2024. Anyway, definitely will never return. My family owns businesses all over Myrtle Beach as well as in the southeast and these girls did not even display basic common courtesy, respect or professionalism and it was just unbelievable. Definitely will not return as long as those two are working there. Definitely should not be going out of their way to hassle a guest in such a hostile manner. They didn’t even bother to offer a different item or say something such as: “Is there anything else you might like?”
I wanted to look at the menu after I realized that they no longer serve the bbq chicken flatbread but I was so put-off by their behavior and not at all comfortable..that I just left at that point.

Love the food and my order was ready quickly. However I was not to happy with the baked potato. It dod seem a little hard. Like it was not all the way done. Soup was delicious. Restaurant was clean. Service was nice.

I’ve been to several McAlister’s Deli restaurants and I’ve never had a bad meal. On this day I took my mom for a late lunch. She had what she described as a delicious club sandwich. I had a salad with deli sliced chicken that I thought was good also. I’ve had several of their soups, sandwiches and salads and all have been very tasty. I look forward to my next trip to McAlister’s.

Average fare for a deli style chain. As busy as the place was, it certainly showed that the place was doing good business. Staff were friendly and doing their best to make sure the patrons were being fed. Smoked turkey and Black Forest ham was reasonably layered, bacon was there but not really noticeable and the greens and tomato seemed fresh, cheese ok, Mayo and honey mustard light and the wheat toast dry. Mac and cheese average and the sweat tea to my wife’s liking. Enjoyed the outdoor seating with plenty of tables on the covered patio. Staff even ventured out to see if we needed anything. A doable alternative to fast food.
