Dairy-Ette turned 69 years old today 10/22/2025. Hubby, my son, and I enjoyed a good tasty burger. The only issue i had was, I asked for mayo and received mustard. Hubby requested no onions and still had onions in his burger. It was an easy fix for him and I ate my burger as is. They have a good solid burger made with fresh ingredients. I wasn’t a fan of the fries. I recommend you try the root beer float. It was so delicious The root beer float was the highlight of the entire meal for me.
We went at an odd hour and luckily we we’re able to get booth seating. The dining room is a bit small. The prices are resonable and great customer service. Overall I recommend you go check them out.

Classic Burger spot in East Dallas. Their decor has never changed, and I’m ok with that. We were quickly greeted and served. The homemade rootbeer was heavenly. I will be back again for more rootbeer. Plenty of parking as well..

Hole in the with limited indoor seating and carhops serving outside. Reasonable prices for what they offer. The fries could be a little crispier, but the portion was generous. The burger was above average, but the bun was slightly stale. This was all forgiven when I took a sip of the house made Root Beer. I would stop traffic to take the whole tank home.

The burgers and fries plus a malt shake were really great. If you are of a spiritual nature, then you will appreciate the warm memories and the spirit of the of all things of the past. Dating back to the 50’s you can almost see people enjoying the DAIRY-ETTE experience. When I walked in I spoke with the owner who gave me a quick history lesson of the Dairy-Ette. With her and the staff sharing with me the history I felt like I was back home in Chicago. It had a very familiar tone. I recommend those who are burger and shakes to hit this spot. I enjoy places that still have spirit to them. Not the spirit less corporate establishments that permeant every crevasse in our society.

I went here because my brother mentioned the burgers here were “pretty good” but noted that they made good homemade root beer and onion rings.

I ordered a single patty bacon cheeseburger, an order of onion rings and 1 medium root beer float. Right or wrong just from looking at the building outside I didn’t expect a high cost to my order but to my surprise my order was $23.16. That to me is definitely an insane cost for what I ordered and what I would think would be expected for a luxury burger restaurant.

Did the quality match the insane cost? Short answer? Definitely not. The bun was dry and the bacon was super dry. Nothing special. I liked the size of the onion rings but I wasn’t fond of the specific batter used. I prefer more thick batter and this was the opposite of that. The root beer float I was hoping would at least be noteworthy to salvage everything else but I can’t say it was exceptional or anything.

For me personally I wouldn’t come back here again. Far superior burgers and onion rings outside of here and at a much cheaper price importantly.

What can I say about the Dairy-Ette that hasn’t been said. If you want to take a trip back in time to when burgers were burgers and no one had ever heard the word “brioche”. Basic drive-in burger joint food done perfectly. There’s no Dijon aioli, but there’s home made chili. And their claim to fame is HOMEMADE root beer in a frozen mug. If you’ve never been before and you don’t get one, you need to rethink your life choices. It’s like a trip back to the 50’s with tasty, well made burgers and fries and no frou frou sloppiness. It’s been a staple for years for a readon. Make it by the Dairy-Ette.
