The wine list is solid, with plenty of Italian selections. We ordered a Sardinian Vermentino, which isn’t something you see on many menus. It was crisp and aromatic and a perfect match for our appetizer.
For appetizer, we had the Frittura di Alici, lightly dusted Canadian smelts with salt and pepper. Our server suggested extra tomato sauce on the side. The smelts were perfectly crisp, light, and flavorful without being greasy.
For our mains, I ordered the special pizza: Grandma’s Pizza. Thin crust and rectangular with mozzarella, tomato sauce and basil and baked in their wood-fired oven. It had a wonderful rustic crust with charred edges. My wife ordered the Pasta alle Vongole, a classic dish with fresh clams, garlic, white wine, and olive oil.
The restaurant itself is cozy and welcoming, with soccer memorabilia on the walls and a friendly staff. The service was attentive despite how busy it was.
Overall, Terra Mia delivers authentic Italian comfort food in a lively, casual atmosphere. Highly recommend, especially the outdoor seating.
I’ve been here four times now and it continues to impress, from the classic trattoria vibes, to the flavors, to the service!
Yes, I requested the capers added to the claims and linguine, because I like them.
But if you’re a fan of pasta arrabiatta, you may not find a more authentic version in Florida.

As a veteran, I rely on my service dog and bring him everywhere with me. I’ve visited many restaurants, from casual dining to fine dining, and have never experienced any issues related to my service dog until this visit. When we arrived and requested a table for three, the owner approached us and asked if we preferred to sit inside or outside. We said inside, but he responded, “You should sit outside because that would be better for the dog.” My wife kindly explained that he is a service dog, not a pet. Despite this, the owner instructed an employee to move food and drinks from another table near the entrance, where someone was already seated, to place us there. This felt very disrespectful and unnecessary.
I do want to acknowledge that the food was exceptional, and the staff were kind, respectful, and professional. Several employees even complimented our service dog and showed genuine interest in learning about him.
While I would like to return in the future because of the quality of the food and the great staff, I strongly encourage the owner to become more informed about service animal policies and to treat guests with the respect they deserve. An apology would be appreciated, and I hope future guests with service animals are treated more appropriately.
